I think a few sellers ignored the street date!

I think a few sellers ignored the street date!

Sadly, Amazon UK don't seem to be among them.

I'm not against ordering from the US but the killjoy stormtroopers at Her Majesty's Customs & Excise sometimes add an eye-watering amount of tax. Another side-effect is that the Post Office won't deliver it until the duty is paid so I have to trek to the local sorting office.

It's like living in a third world country.

I think that the release of Dragonfly Squadron is pretty cool.

  1. We are getting a movie on Blu-ray in 3D.
  2. It will be one of the few 3D titles (maybe the first) that will have perfect 3D alignment.
  3. It will be unlike many of the 3D titles that have little depth and/or no layering of 3D.
  4. It's from the 1950's 3D boom.
  5. It was never released in 3D so, we are the first one's to see it in 60 years!

I know your pain. Luckily I pre-ordered from Amazon.com when it was $24.47, meaning it'll just make it under the customs threshold. Same for The Bubble!

I've waited over 30 years for The Bubble so I reckon I can wait a bit longer. :)

Just came back from watching a natively-shot 3D Mexican film: Darker than the Night (a remake of a 1975 Mexican horror film). It's a haunted house, things that go bump in the night story, well shot, lots of depth in those long, creepy hallways; some pop-up, not much. Sound design and music added to the creepiness, as well as having moving spectral shades in the background, while the main characters in the foreground just sense something is not at all well. I wonder if this is the first 3D Mexican film.

That sounds very good, Jose. I'll have to check that out.

This is one of several Mexican 3-D features from 1953:

I've just been notified that mine has shipped.

At only $19.95 it's a bargain at ImportCDs.

Better recharge my 3D glasses so that I'm totally ready for the magic moment.

The poster art claims this one is the very first 3D Mexican film, and it's from 1953.

Thank you very much, David!

Did the 3-D cinematography add to your enjoyment of the film?

John Hodiak seemed charismatic!
