I have a panasonic 3d tv and pwt500 dvd player but the tv sound is not good.I need some advice on upgrading my sound to 5,1 surround.I have around $500-$600 to spend.

The 1612 is a 5.1 receiver without any video conversion but it may have some networking, streaming or some more of the latest features.
"Everyday room": Panasonic 58" Plasma, Dish HD DVR, Pioneer Elite vsx-23, BDP-23 BR, dv58avi universal dvd player, Paradigm Studio 20 V1, CC-450, Dayton HSU-10 subwoofer.
