Not a B&W series, but Shane: The Complete Series is coming from TImeless Media Group: http://tvshowsondvd....te-Series/20526

Would have preferred A Man Called Shenandoah

See you at the pah-ty, Richter.

I think this will come from WB if released, not Timeless.

I went by my local Sam's Club today to see if they had Gunsmoke Season 11 in stock; no, they did not.

So, I went by my local Walmart Supercenter, and there it was, both Volume 1 and 2. Price was 19.96 each, so I picked up a copy of each volume. :)

Thanks for informing us about this, Chris--I picked up both volumes of season 11 at one of my local Walmarts yesterday.

Glad to help. I never know if my local Sam's Club will have the Gunsmokes anymore. They stocked Gunsmoke Season 10 Volume 1, but never Volume 2. Maybe Season 11 will eventually turn up there, but now I don't have to wait and wonder.

Very nice to have all the B/W seasons of Gunsmoke. There was a time not too long ago that it looked like getting all of these seasons wasn't going to happen.

I'm anxiously awaiting an announcement for Season 12, the first of the color seasons.  I'm hoping they will continue to offer uncut, remastered episodes as nice as the b+w seasons.

Weren't the color episodes in the 50th-anniversary sets time-sped and/or cut? I'm most familiar with the episode "Quaker Girl," which ran well under 50:30-51:00 and had several extra fade-outs as if for additional commercial breaks.

I'm sure S12 will be released but I have heard that it will be some considerable time.

Yes, some of the color episodes in that set were shorter.  Perhaps they were the syndicated versions which run about 46 minutes and have extra commercial breaks.

Hopefully, the extra time is being used for remastering.  As I mentioned in another thread, Seasons 13 and 14 were just released in Germany.  A friend there told me they were uncut, but not remastered.  He was very disappointed with the picture quality.

From Warner Archive on Facebook:

Warner Archive Collection As we have indicated here earlier, we remastering THE DAKOTAS (actually mastering it for the first time isn't re-mastering!) and it should be out next year. We are have close to wrapping up the clearances on LAWMAN. HONDO and the others [Colt .45 was inquired about] are possibilities for the future. Thanks.

Nothing exciting there, although I wouldn't mind getting an upgrade on my Dakotas episodes. I'll keep the ones I have also since they have the original commercials. As for Lawman, I'm perfectly happy with the ones from Encore and Hondo isn't a great show so I'm fine with the TNT ones, which were complete and looked nice.

A question was asked about more short-run sitcoms and here was the reply:

We have several planned for next year. Thanks.

That's good news and hopefully they can go more in that direction. They waste too much time on all of these really bad HB shows IMO.

Very curious as to which sitcoms are forthcoming. Realling hoping for some 60's stuff rather than 70's or 80's.

I'll be buying all three, and Colt 45 if it materializes as well.

All this talk about TV shows that are in color only point to the sad truth of this thread's title.  Not that I mind the talk veering into mid to late 60's stuff.  I'm just making an observation about how bleak the future looks when it comes to b/w material.  Down to only a trickle at this point.

Gary "after this past year's releases the answer to the thread question can only be a categorical 'YES', unfortunately" O.

It would be nice to get Room For One More ,Warner Brothers first sitcom which ran on ABC-TV during 1962.

Does anyone know what other 1960's WB sitcoms may be available for release through WBA?

Wendy and Me would be a possibility, I suppose,

Slightly off-topic

Game Show Network will be showing What's My Line starting the night of Dec 17th (actually early morning of the 18th).

I imagine this is their annual two weeks worth of episodes.   Still, one of my favorite shows, so always welcome.

VCI has announced a "Volume 1" 10 episode collection of the 1954-55 B&W adventure series, WATERFRONT. Not sure it merits a separate thread, but I started one anyway:
