Someone who works at the local Barnes and Noble is nice enough to give me a heads-up when these sales are approaching. He has told me that there will be a 40% off sale for all Blu-rays (Criterion included) beginning Sunday 12/18 for one week only. I am guessing this would hold true for all of their stores. B&M is quickly becoming the best bargain for BD's anywhere, if you time your purchases right.

Last time I was in a B&N, their prices were so high, 40% still wouldn't be a great price.

With a membership, the discount actually comes to 46% off when bought in-store and 52% off when ordering on line and using one of the 20% off coupons good until 12/24. Maybe not as good as the BF deals, but still nothing to sneeze at, imo, especially if what you want is catalog material that isn't popular enough to get discounted on a regular basis. I had been putting off this weeks releases to pick up in the sale, but for some reason Meet Me In St. Louis isn't available for online ordering, and neither that nor Rocketeer has shown up in store where I am, so this may turn out to be a frustrating sale.

MEET ME IN ST. LOUIS is one of several titles I have had set aside until Sunday (others being LOONEY TUNES PLATINUM and GIORGIO MORODOR'S METROPOLIS). The stores can hold them for a few days for you.

Where do you get these coupons? I bought a membership a few months back, but I've never received any coupons from them. - Mark

Last time I was in a B&N, their prices were so high, 40% still wouldn't be a great price.

The 40% is off the list price . It is not in addition to their usual small 10% discount nor their sometimes larger discounts up to 50%. However as has been said there are additional coupons that can be used in additional to the 40% off. Multiple discounts are applied net of previous discounts. For example if an item was 50% off and you got an additional 10% off for being a member, your total discount would be 55% off not 60% off. There are currently no in store coupons but there maybe in store coupons later in the week per Lasermovies. The 10% off membership coupon is not good online so for this sale in store purchased would be cheaper unless you use an on line coupon. Membership gives you free shipping on line with any purchase. Non members must spend at least $25 for free shipping on line. Membership shipping is supposedly faster.

I received a member coupon book last month with three 20% in-store coupons. I used them all last night in a single purchase. I hate these sales and coupons; they're cleanin' me out!

Yeah - thought I was done buying movies for Christmas, too.  But I'd been eyeballing The Maltese Falcon, and 40% off plus a 25% off coupon code got me to place "just one more" order. :-)
