Weeds: Season Seven
New York, New High! After serving three years in the clink, Nancy Botwin (Primetime Emmy® and Golden Globe® winner* Mary-Louise Parker) aims to make a fresh start in a new city in an all-new season of Showtime's hit dark comedy, "Weeds." Available on DVD and Blu-ray Disc, Weeds: Season Seven includes all 13 episodes of the latest season, which brings together the entire First Family of Felons including Justin Kirk (TV's "Modern Family"), Hunter Parrish (It's Complicated), Alexander Gould (Finding Nemo) and their loveable and misguided friend, Doug (Kevin Nealon, Just Go With It). The release is complete with cast and crew commentaries, an "Uncle Andy's Tricks of the Trade" mockumentary, a "Growing Up in the Weeds" featurette with Alexander Gould, a Q&A with the creator and actors, a gag reel and deleted scenes. Weeds: Season Seven lights up at retail on February 21st.
Picking up three years after Nancy takes the rap for murder, the Botwins are heading to New York - and Nancy to a halfway house. The new season, which premiered to nearly six million viewers in June 2011, features special guest stars Martin Short (TV's "How I Met Your Mother") and the return of Jennifer Jason Leigh (Margot At the Wedding) as Nancy's sister.
Since its debut, "Weeds" has been nominated for 20 Primetime Emmy® Awards and ten Golden Globes® and won the Golden Globe® for Best Performance by An Actress in a Television Series - Musical or Comedy - for Parker's brilliant performance (2007). The show has continued to garner enormous critical acclaim. At the start of its fifth season debut People Magazine exclaimed,"Weeds is a rare example of a show that has reinvented itself and actually come out better." The Chicago Sun-Times proclaimed it "the funniest thing you'll see all summer." The San Francisco Chronicle hailed it "dramatically challenging and risky."
