Many of those DVD/BR titles seem like the same ones they had on sale last year. I went to Walmart at Midnight on Thanksgiving last year. The crowd wasn't bad, though the big electronics items that draw the most interest didn't start until 5AM on Friday.

A $200 1080p 40" tv for the bedroom sounds good.

I'll bet that Amazon pricematches a lot of those DVD and Blu-ray deals. I remember two years ago I was at Target waiting to checkout at 5:30AM. They were already out of Psych so I checked Amazon from my phone while I was waiting....sure enough, same price.

Mike- Fast Five is easily worth the $10. That movie was a lot of fun.

That was a fun "check reality and the laws of physics" at the door scene, and it did rock the HT.

Haven't gone out on BF for about 5 years but will this year. Going to get there VERY early to get one of the 3 Toshiba 65" lcd tvs (called & found out that it's 3 sets for this store at least). I figure it's about time to replace my Samsung dlp hlp5063W (although with the new bulb & other parts replaced just before the extended warranty ran out it still runs like the day I bought it). Gonna let my nephew have the old one.

I just replaced my Samsung DLP this past year with a Panasonic plasma. Good luck and let us know how you make out!

^ I've had a Panny Plasma for a couple of years. 42" Pretty good TV. Only one I could find that worked with my Panny HTiB Blu system to play films smoothly. I've never been sure what the problem was. Tried a Samsung 60hz and a Vizio 120hz. Neither was acceptable for me. But the Panny Plasma did the trick. I do wish the TV had a built in screen saver (just a black screen) you could bring up with a press of a button. It has what I call "the sweeper", just a black screen with white bars that sweep image retension off somewhat quickly. But you have to select it from the menu, single button would have been better. I'm planning to upgrade to a 3D TV in a year or 2. Probably won't go plasma or Panny though. My thing is dark black levels and smooth movement. I was amazed I had to return 2 LCDs to Walmart and mail order that Panny Plasma. Hoping tech is better now.

Walmart online has 4 BDs for $20 promotion (the selection isn't that great if you have most of the "cheap" BD titles of late): http://www.walmart.com/ip/Choose-4-for-20-Blu-rays/17622180 and here's the link for their 2 BDs for $20 promotion (again, selection isn't that great): http://www.walmart.com/ip/2-for-20-Blu-ray-Value-Bundle/17688675

Out of that whole list for Wal-mart the thing that caught my eye and made me spit out my cereal this morning is the MW4 for 15 bucks >.> I so wanna slap myself for not waiting. Asleep at the wheel !

Thank you Patrick and I needed a cheap small speaker setup for my bedroom so I bought the Samsung Smart Blu-ray Home Theater System. Now I just need a new receiver for the living room and 2 more speakers for the HT. Thinking about upgrading my bedroom TV as well. Got a new 3D/Plasma coming for the HT so that's out of the way.

I think the parents might enjoy the Kindle Fire. It's missing some things I want so I'll wait for the next generation model.

^ wondering if a lot of those will be in the store tomorrow for $5 anyway... hummm... Actually some goods one there that I don't have but want. Hoping for both of the Clash of the Titans Blu rays. $5 and $10 would be awesome. Would leave happy if I just got that.

Got to my store around 11:30PM and found quite a few titles, but by the time I left around 1AM they'd already sold a ton and were condensing the displays. Not sure what you'll find if you wait until sometime Friday. I saw the original "Clash" on Blu-Ray, but the remake only on DVD in my store. The titles I really wanted were Fast Five (blu-ray), Big Bang Theory S2, Bones S4, and Always Sunny in Philly S6. By 11:30PM, the only one I found was Fast Five and I think I got the last copy. They had Philly S1-S5, but no 6. Fortunately, I bought many other titles to console me. :D My haul: $10 Blu-Ray: Fast Five $10 TV Sets: Six Feet Under S2 Six Feet Under S4 Six Feet Under S5 (no S3, unfortunately; they did have S1 which I already had) $5 Blu-Ray: Fantastic 4 Fantastic 4: Rise of the Silver Surfer The Transporter The Transporter 2 X-Men X2: X-Men United X-Men: The Last Stand Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves The Matrix 300 $5 DVD: Red Riding Hood The Other Guys $1.96 DVD: Jarhead Happiness is a Warm Blanket, Charlie Brown

There still are no Walmarts near me -- which I guess is just as well -- but just noticed that they now ship to local FedEx locations and count that as equivalent to "in-store pickup", ie. virtually free shipping, so looks like I can finally place an order or two from them going forward, particularly for certain Walmart exclusives.

Just thought I'd mention that for anyone else who doesn't live near enough to a Walmart...

Did about 95% of my BF shopping at Walmart (Best Buys was terrible, and only picked up 4 season sets from Target), and spent about half a grand on various DVDs/BDs/TV boxsets for my annual office DVD/BD holiday giveaway activity. What doesn't get picked will be returned. I even put back about $100 worth of titles because I thought I was over-doing the "selection". But not a bad selection of $5/$10 BDs on hand at Walmart this year. I thought it was funny how Inception was the same $5 price for DVD or BD.

Nice haul. I'm not quite on top of everything. I didn't know it began the night before. hahaha! Now, last year I went on the following saturday and spent nearly $200 on blus and DVDs alone. Got great stuff like Family Guy and Futurama vols, loads of blu ray movies for $5 and a few for $10 (like terminator salvation and Wolfman, the newer one). I was hoping I could have even better luck this year. But if they are starting it up late thursday..? Well... I don't really have a lot of interest in going out on Thanksgiving Day to do this shopping. If I miss everything this year I probably won't bother going out. I"m happy with online deals. Really having fun with what Steam does, the PC gaming store. I've spent less than $20 and I'm having a ball so far. Well, I noticed Big Lots opens at 7AM today so I'll just swing by walmarts in a few minutes and hit BL after. Hoping to get something. But if not, I'll continue online with...uh, hum...Cyber Monday on...erm, Black Friday. Tee hee! ...seriously, I wonder where this could take this crazy thing next.
