Lots of great stuff.  Matt just reviewed Stagecoach.  Just a reminder that all of these are exclusively available at Screen Archives.

I have them all and I am especially looking forward to next month's release of THE LEFT HAND OF GOD. I know the economy is bad but it still amazes me that none of the initial releases have sold out yet.

Just looking at this lineup reinforces in my mind that they have really an interesting array of movies here: something for every taste in film.

That none have sold out indicates that there isn't much of an audience for catalog titles, or, more likely, that there isn't much of an audience for these catalog titles. (Or, even more likely, that not enough would-be buyers know about Twilight Time.)

I agree about not enough would be buyers know about Twilight Time, but something must be going right for them to get together with Sony.  I also heard through Facebook that the Blu-ray of The Egyptian only has a couple of hundred copies on hand.

I have supported them when a title catches my attention, so there has only been about three titles I passed.

Are these discs pressed or burned?

I'd imagine that pricing and a few mastering glitches on the first few titles might play a part too.

These are pressed. I presume that's part of what makes the limited edtion thing work. Besides the marketing side, they have (reasonably) fixed manufacturing costs and hopefully reduced storage costs.

These are good old fashioned DVDs and Blu-rays.  No DVD-Rs here!

I think the biggest issues is not enough people know about them and their releases.

The quote function doesn't seem to be working for me, but Scott: Thanks. I would surmise you're correct. SAE is mostly known for distributing limited edition, factory-pressed film score CDs; doing the same for lesser-known films on DVD and Blu seems natural. Glad to see it happening. If only the Warner Archives could incorporate aspects of this model, namely pressed discs, to allow for a superior product. Adam: I believe this effort is a big part of SAE's expansion to move beyond just film scores. Hopefully word will spread and the business will grow.

I'm all for everyone's business growing.  That's why we are happy to get the word out.  I hadn't heard of SAE prior to Twilight Time.

I just watched "The Left Hand of God". It is an outstanding transfer. Rich color and full directional stereophonic sound. Fans of early CinemaScope films will love this DVD.
