Lion King for sure come Wednesday afternoon. And I'm sorely tempted for Thor and the first 2 Transformers movies on BD. Maybe even GI Joe...but don't tell anyone.

Thanks Mike.  Later today I'll be posting a contest for the Lion King BD and Transformers 3 BD, so you may want to give that a shot Jason.  I'll make them both quick turn arounds so you can still take advantage of sale prices if you don't win.

Nice to see The Lion King 2-disc set being only $19.99. With the $5 Disney coupon and the $7.50 down payment I made at BB to get the cool steel case, I'll end up getting this for under ten bucks.

Mike, My Best Buy ad is only showing a savings of $8 for buying both The Lion King and Disney's African Cats/Beauty and the Beast. Of course, they should have had a savings offer if you want to buy all three.

So I guess $5.00 is the new normal for Disney coupons.  Boo!

Well, I was going to get the 3D Lion King anyway, so that plus the $7.50 deposit on the steelbook brings Tuesday's damage to $17.50.

It's technically only good for the 4-disc set, but so was the $5 coupon for Tangled earlier this year, and I managed to use it at BB for the 2-disc version with no questions asked, so fingers crossed. ;)

That's not a bad idea. I may give it a try myself at Toys R Us.

The Subway $5 coupon is good on any DIamond edition of Lion King which includes the 2 disc. I got one at a Subway in Wal Mart just by asking & didn't have to buy a kid's meal to get it. Might work for others too. Depends on your Subway guy.

I want to share this information now because I think it may be useful to some members, but I need to tiptoe around some of it because of HTF's Rule #7:

7. No breaking "street date". Please do not post information about retail or other sources that have DVDs or other video releases available for sale before the official "street date".

I was traveling outside my hometown today and had a coupon to use on a Used Blu-ray (which was about to expire).

So I went into a store of a well-known chain...but one I had never been in before.  After I perused the "Used" section and found a title I had been looking for, I then realized that some of the high-profile titles in this week's WRU (The Lion King and Fast Five) were already out for sale.  Luckily, I had already put my $5 Disney coupon in my wallet.

As people are reporting above with Tangled, I WAS able to use the $5 coupon on the 2-disc Diamond Edition Blu-ray of TLK.

And this same retailer is offering another discount of $5 off via mail-in rebate!

Here's the breakdown:

Original price (MSRP?)  $39.99

Minus $12 (sale price)    $27.99

Minus 10% Discount $2.80 ("Loyalty Discount")  $25.19

Minus $5 (DMR Coupon)   $20.19

Minus $5 (Mail-In Rebate)  $15.19!

Not bad at all!

I was actually considering buying a Subway kid's meal just to get the coupon, but I was afraid people would look at me funny. Maybe I'll swing by my local Subway before I hit BB on Tuesday and see if I can nab a coupon.
