PANASONIC DEBUTS NEW FULL-HD HOME THEATER PROJECTOR

WITH 2,800 LUMENS OF BRIGHTNESS

The PT-AR100U Delivers Large Screen Entertainment with Enhanced Brightness

for Movie, Sports and Game Enthusiasts

Secaucus, NJ, September 6, 2011 – Panasonic Solutions Company, provider of collaboration, information-sharing and decision-support solutions for government and commercial enterprises, today announced the PT-AR100U Full High-Definition LCD Home Theater Projector with 1080p (1,920 x 1,080 pixel) resolution. Featuring 2,800 lumens of brightness and a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, the PT-AR100U lets home-theater enthusiasts enjoy Full-HD large screen entertainment – from movies, sports to games – in various lighting conditions.

The PT-AR100U projector produces bright, sharp images by employing a new, high-power 280-watt Red-Rich Lamp and optical unit that generates 2,800 lumens of brightness for comfortable viewing in various lighting conditions. In addition, its advanced Light Harmonizer 3 feature automatically adjusts the picture quality to match living room or theater room conditions. The Light Harmonizer 3 uses built in ambient light and color sensors to adjust the white balance, gamma curve and sharpness settings to maintain bright, crisp pictures which match the viewing environment.

“Clear image quality and stunningly bright pictures make the PT-AR100U perfect for watching sports, showing movies and playing video games at home,” said Scott Wellington, product marketing manager at Panasonic Solutions Company. “The addition of the PT-AR100U to our home theater projector portfolio reaffirms our commitment to providing consumers with innovative technologies that transform their living rooms and home theaters into dynamic, state-of-the-art entertainment centers.”

Advanced Optical Components Deliver Superior Picture Quality

Consumers can enjoy high picture quality with Panasonic’s Hollywood tuning imaging technology. The PT-AR100U is equipped with many advanced optical components, such as the Dynamic Iris Pro and Pure Color Filter Pro which help reproduce a stunning 50,000:1 contrast ratio and exceptional color accuracy.  The intelligent Dynamic Iris Pro adjusts the PT-AR100U optical iris, the Red-Rich Lamp and gamma curve1 60 times per second to produce beautiful images with accurate black level and shadow detail. The PT-AR100U Pure Color Filter Pro achieves a high purity level of the three primary colors—red, green and blue—while displaying deeper, purer blacks, with extended color gamut. In addition, the PT-AR100U excels at showing fine detail thanks to the proprietary Detail Clarity Processor 3 engine.

Multiple Picture Modes Optimize Performance for Different Content

With the powerful light output and the extended dynamic range, the PT-AR100U comes equipped with a total of seven different picture modes that provides optimal performance for different video contents. They include, Sports, Game, Cinema 1, Vivid Cinema, Normal, REC709 and Dynamic mode.

In Sports mode, users can enjoy games with minimal frame delay and image tuning that brings the action home. While in Game mode, picture quality characteristics have been specifically tuned to reveal more image details in the dark or over-saturated areas that are prevalent in many games. Together with the preset picture mode, the Motion Effect function ensures that the fast-moving images are crisp and clear. This new technology detects and analyzes the brightness and frequency distribution data of the image. Based on this analysis, it optimizes the sharpness along a time axis to maintain naturally sharp images for best possible viewing.

To ensure best possible calibration, a built-in Waveform monitor makes it possible to view waveforms on the screen and adjust settings to make sure that the full dynamic range is in use. Furthermore, the Split Adjust Mode provides an easy to navigate solution for those looking to adjust different picture settings on the projector.
