And one would presume that the News on the March people would use the same title card for all of their newsreels...it's bound to get beat-up at some point.  I think it's safe to say that the "age" we saw on it in previous iterations was intentional, not due to the actual aging of Citizen Kane.  I think cleaning it up was a bit of a misstep.

The transfer of this feels older, like they had it ready for a few years before releasing it. I would like to see another go at in the next couple of years.

Can't say I really agree on that front.  Kane's transfer is much closer in quality to, say, the 70th Anniversary Edition of Casablanca, rather than the initial Casablanca release, which certainly had been sitting around for a few years.  Aside from some minor qualms, like the freeze-frame moments, I think Kane looks fairly remarkable on BD.
