Once again, Disney comes through with a 3D rendering for general audience consumption. I'm very grateful.

Yup.  Disney has been doing a spectacular job with DVD.

One of the few studios really giving 100% to the format.  Bravo!

Disney's prices are murder, but I'll probably pick up the 3D combo pack.

^^^ Geez! I thought you were making a joke when I saw that first sentence in the preview!

Three of those discs will be useless garbage after a couple of months (ie digital copy).

This is why I don't get the whole "digital copy" craze...by the time most releases w/digital copies get discounted to the point I'd buy them, the digital copy codes are out of date and I may as well chuck the extra discs in the trash. Not that I have any desire to watch an entire movie on my laptop or an iPod (which I don't own). Why pay money and watch a movie in inferior quality on a screen the size of a Post-It note?

Its because and 11 disc set sounds a whole lot better than an 8 disc set Posted Image.  To me Digital Copies are like rebates.  People will use them as a justification for buying but not use them.

I redeem all my Digital Copies, just so I have some flicks I like on my iPad to help while away the hours associated with air travel. That said, I wish the other studios would follow Warner's lead on this and just provide the redemption code which allows you to download the film from iTunes (or the Windows equivalent). That would eliminate the extra one-use disc.

Three truths about movies, as noted by Roger Ebert:

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

* No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.

* No good movie is depressing, all bad movies are depressing.

Actually, there has been so many deals on Disney Blu-rays that they have made it easy to buy them.  (For example, the Tron/Tron Legacy combo and Cars/Incredibles combo both were irresistable to me.)

This is true. I can't remember the last Disney Blu that didn't receive a DMR coupon for at least $8 off.
