The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Thanks Mike. I need the break on my wallet after last weeks Walmart exclusives. I'd love to et Buster Keaton, but I'll wait for a better sale price.

Thanks, Mike. Yes, it's another slow week but that's a good thing since the B&N Criterion 50% off sale is supposed to start on Tuesday.

The Rango Blu will be my only non-Criterion pickup of the week, speaking of which... Amazon is matching the Best Buy/Target coupon deals on Rango. Enter the coupon code RANGO5GO at checkout to get the $5 off.

I'll pick up Robot Chicken: Star Wars this week. I'll wait about 2 months until Entourage hits $15 so I don't have to pay that much for 10 (mostly lackluster) episodes. Insidious was pretty cool and well worth a rental for those interested. Thanks for the prices! :)

Since my pre-order of the Buster Keaton Shorts arrived almost a full week early from Deep Discount, who was selling the Blu for about $25 during their summer sale, this week's looking pretty quiet. Except for the Criterion sale, of course. If I'm feeling impulsive, for $14.99, I may blind-buy Rango, but I think I'll rent first.

BTW, I happened by my local Target today and happened to notice the Blu-ray of 61* (Billy Crystal's HBO tale of the Maris/Mantle home run tear in 1961) for just $9.99.

I've never seen it but figured that was probably a safe investment.

It's an excellent made-for-HBO movie and well worth that. Thomas Jane and Barry Pepper ARE eeriely Mantle and Maris.

Thanks, Mike.

I'll probably go for the Rango BD deal particularly since the kids are out of school (and will be done w/ their string camp this coming weekend).

Probably wait for a later/better sale on the Brazil BD (assuming this version from Universal is actually good).

Looking forward to the B&N Criterion sale...

Yeah, my set also arrived (surprisingly) about a week early despite using free shipping from DD -- I was wondering if the sale might mean a significant delay, especially since there was a day or so when they (and DVD Planet) had what seemed to be a pricing mistake (due to the sale extension) that dropped it all the way down to ~$20 or so.

Watched a few shorts from disc 1, and most of them look quite good and fairly comparable to other Kino BD releases of his feature films so far -- yeah, they didn't try to remove all the scratches and such, but that didn't really bother me at all. Of the first few shorts I saw, only Convict 13 is clearly very subpar and probably came from some very poor film element although there wasn't as much (noticeable?) scratches and such as some others.

I've been waiting for this for a while. Broadcast News and Times of Harvey Milk for sure. I need to figure out how to walk from our new office to B/N downtown, but that should be easy enough.
