I know the new season starts tonight.    I really liked the first season, but I'm hoping they up the action more this season.   They should take some lessons from Nikkita

Just a reminder that the second season of USA's Covert Affairs starts tonight, Tuesday, June 7th.

I'm looking forward to it--it was a great summer show last year!

It was a decent start to the season.   This is much lighter fare then even Burn Notice.   I keep trying to think of something comparable, but falling short.  Still, for the summer, it's good enough :)

The show would be Alias, although Alias is way up here and Covert Affairs is way down there. That conclusion is more or less Maureen Ryan's take on the show. IOW, Covert Affairs is a pale imitation of a show that was so much better.

I enjoyed CA last year but after Tuesday's episode I am on the fence whether it's sponge worthy.

I had to rewatch the last episode of S1 to get back up to speed.  I thought the season two premiere was satisfying.  Its no Alias, but its a fun summer show.  They have given me no reason to stop watching at this point.  Fairly Legal and Royal Pains are shows I am on the fence about...Bring on Burn Notice!

I guess Alias would be the closest comparison but I really don't think they are anything alike other than the lead is a female agent.  CA is a much much lighter show.

I have seen Larry David in action, and that man is an animal, and he has to be stopped.

CA is a very light show; but she's fun to watch and it's passable.   It never really hits a homerun, more like a bunch of safe singles and occassionally a solid double.   But it's comfort TV

Comfort TV is a great description.  I know what I am going to get and I enjoy it.  CHAOS is kind of like that too.

I was really hoping they'd have Jaime Alexander wear some glasses because she was channeling some Diana Prince in her guest-appearance in last night's episode. Looks like Jaime (as Reva) is also back for next week's episode. Anne Dudek is sorely wasted as the sister on this show.

Plus I think the lead actresses in both shows, sound so similar when they talk.

I'm a week behind because this is the type of show I dread watching but typically enjoy when I do. But, it stretched credulity that Annie at, what, a buck twenty five? was able to drag that guy in directions he didn't want to go. He wasn't Schwartzeneggar, yeah, but still.

Seemed like a short season (though it was apparently 10 eps), but they advertised a return in the fall. Interesting. I'll be more on board that time, as I got back into enjoying it.

It's not a bad show, but I never get excited when I see it on my DVR, I usually watch it as a time waster but enjoy it when I do watch it. I'm pretty indifferent about the show.

That's been me both seasons. I put off and dread the first few episodes, then I get more into it and can look forward to it on the night.

Does Auggie being blind in his position bother anyone else, because it stretches my incredulity?

No, not at all.   Don Steury, a CIA historian who had also written several great pieces had a moment a few years ago, I'd have to look it up, where one of the best analytical minds in the 1980s within the CIA suffered several disabilities; but because he had suffered those in the line of duty, his ability to think quickly and assess a situation was still highly prized by the CIA.    I'll have to find the book.

The fact that Auggie went from being special forces US intelligence to intelligence evaluator within the CIA doesn't seem like an impossibility.  If they had made him a field agent, then yes.  And the episode where he played that part.. yes.

I think the 2nd half of season 2 returns tonight on USA. Or is this season 3?

I actually liked seeing Arthur in the field with Annie. Too bad Anne Dudek is still saddled with the role of Annie's sister. Good on Auggie for closing the deal on the sister of Billy (had to look her up, as she looked familiar, and she was, as she was the sister cop on "The Chicago Code".
