This isn't total brand new news, but now that pre-orders are up at Amazon it's become a reality. Something Weird Video and Image Entertainment are teaming up again with their first new discs being Frank Henenlotter's BASKET CASE and Herschell Gordon Lewis' BLOOD TRILOGY (Blood Feast, Two Thousand Maniacs and Color Me Blood Red)! I'm sure some folks may laugh at the news, but I'm very excited by this news and seeing these movies in high definition. No details on THE BLOOD TRILOGY, but BASKET CASE is coming from a new IP from the formerly lost negative (which was never used as a source for any home video release, per Henenlotter). Some bits are missing from the neg, it seems, so a little will come from a print source. I hope all of the new SWV releases are handled with the same care and dedication of their past efforts. http://www.amazon.com/Basket-Case-Blu-ray-Kevin-Hentenryck/dp/B0053TWVS2/ref=sr_1_1?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1307068503&sr=1-1 http://www.amazon.com/Blood-Trilogy-Blu-ray-William-Kerwin/dp/B0053TWVWI/ref=sr_1_3?s=dvd&ie=UTF8&qid=1307068518&sr=1-3 Note the current pre-order prices are a measly $12.49 each! One other title coming up will be the doc on Lewis, GODFATHER OF GORE. Not sure if it'll be included with the trilogy or separately at this point.
