According to Amazon, Plunder Road is delayed. I preordered The Big Combo.

I just checked and Amazon is still showing both being released tomorrow. I guess we will know for sure tomorrow.

Well Import CDs has the Big Combo and Plunder Road so we'll just say that another internet rumor was false :)

Amazon has Plunder Road for sale but won't ship for 9-11 days. While i preordered The Big Combo, it has not shipped yet, while The Americano i preordered, has, so there is some problem. Shack Out on 101 is delayed indefinately.
Forget it, Jake. It's Chinatown.

Import CDs have today sent me an email confirming they have 75 copies of The Big Combo in stock. They'll be allocated on a "first come, first served" basis. I've preordered so I should be safe.

Mine have shipped - both Big Combo and Plunder Road...now I can relax.

When I called them they told me that they get fined if they ship before the release date...that's a new one !

Import CDs e-mailed me that The Big Combo, Plunder Road and Shack Out on 101 were shipped today. Of course, I probably won't receive them until next week. I ordered them the first day that they were accepting pre-orders.

I wonder what the relationship is between Olive and Import CDs. Somehow they manage to sell Olive BDs for $10 less than Amazon, even after factoring in shipping.

I received an email today from Amazon that Big Combo is on its way. I ordered Plunder Road from another company through Amazon, that is also on its way. I guess. What a pain.

I am curious to read your (or any other HTF member's) impressions of the Blu-ray of The Big Combo.

Fidelity to the source should always be the goal for Blu-ray releases.

Hey Crawdaddy, nobody else mentioned it either, but I'm especially surprised you have not mentioned it, what about Ambush at Cimarron Pass?

Olive doesn't release titles in December IIRC, so we're unlikely to get the January/February info until November or so.

"And now the reprimand, from an American critic. He reproaches me for using film as a sacred & lasting medium, like a painting or a book. He does not believe that filmmaking is an inferior art, but he believes, and quite rightly, that a reel goes quickly, that the public are looking above all for relaxation, that film is fragile and that it is pretentious to express the power of one's soul by such ephemeral and delicate means, that Charlie Chaplin's or Buster Keaton's first films can only be seen on very rare and badly spoiled prints. I add that the cinema is making daily progress and that eventually films that we consider marvelous today will soon be forgotten because of new dimensions & colour. This is true. But for 4 weeks this film [The Blood of a Poet] has been shown to audiences that have been so attentive, so eager & so warm, that I wonder after all there is not an anonymous public who are looking for more than relaxation in the cinema." - Jean Cocteau, 1932
