I don't know about the US, but I've seen the discs up here in Canada at WAL-MART for like $10, I think. Maybe $20 at the most. I haven't been there recently.

yeah I'm pretty sure. they're either the episodes or TV-movies (if they made TV-movies) because I saw The Incredible Hulk on the cover and I looked on the back and I saw the name Lou Ferrigno. So I'm guessing that it was the TV show.

One cover had Thor on it as well. Posted Image

Columbia House has many of the superior episodes
of the series on VHS. Now that CH seems to be releasing
TV shows on DVD, the Hulk would seem an obvious choice.
I've bought the R2 DVDs but the selection of episodes
isn't as impressive as in CH's Collector's Edition.
Among the episodes in the CH set are the original
telemovie introducing the series, "Married",
"Prometheus" (the episode where Banner is caught in
mid-transformation), "The First" (another man's Hulk),
"Homecoming", "747", "Mystery Man", and "The Snare".
I'd love to be able to retire my VHS set for DVDs.

Hold the phone. Anchor Bay shows that they plan to release The Incredible Hulk Returns and Trial of the Incredible Hulk in "2003 and Beyond":

There seem to be plenty of copies of these Canadian cheap copies floating around on eBay, but I've heard that the video quality is only so-so. I'd be willing to get them anyway, if I could find out more about them, and could get from a reputable seller (the main "buy-it-now" guy for these titles has almost 3 dozen negative feedbacks; I won't take a chance on him!).

Oh man, those last three TV movies were GOOFY. Well, the very last one ("The Death of the Incredible Hulk," if memory serves) wasn't too bad, I guess. A tragic ending, and a brave one at that. After all those years of hoping for a cure, we got to watch him die instead. Oh well, it's closure, right?

But I was a huge fan of the series itself as a kid. So yeah, I'd definitely be interested in seeing dvd releases. For that matter, bring on THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO! I'd be all over that one!

Your memory is correct. For those keeping score, there was the original TV-movie that introduced the Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno era, then the ratings warranted more, so there was a "Return of" telefilm that kicked off the weekly series. Then there were the 3 TV-movies that tied things up (each of the 3 featured an extra Marvel universe superhero: Thor, Daredevil, and 'She-Hulk'...albeit none of them quite exactly in-character, especially the last...even the alternate identity name was different!).

Here's the official order per IMDB:
  • Incredible Hulk, The (1977) (TV)
  • Incredible Hulk: Death in the Family, The (1977) (TV) a.k.a. "Return of the Incredible Hulk, The "
  • "Incredible Hulk, The" (1978) (TV)
  • Incredible Hulk Returns, The (1988) (TV)
  • Trial of the Incredible Hulk, The (1989) (TV)
  • Death of the Incredible Hulk, The (1990) (TV)
There was also something listed at IMDB called
The Incredible Hulk: Married, but it was just a pair of episodes of the TV series spliced together; Mariette Hartley was the object of the green guy's affection. I don't count that among the totals, myself.

For those of you who've noticed that the pic in my sig contains a mugshot of the gamma'ed one, you know that I can't wait until they can get out the whole darn thing in season box sets. Until then, I'll take what I can get. But I'm trying to hold out for the Anchor Bay releases; I recall they mentioned in a chat (I don't know if it was an HTF chat or another) that they're trying to work in some neat extras into the package.
