And this is connected to Lawrence Of Arabia how?

I was responding to Dave Ferris' response to OP RAH's post about photography over the LA basin.

That's cool. "Original poster Robert A. Harris": [Oprah]

And it spells "HARPO" backwards.

Oh no.  But I have oft suspected something.

Did you ever see all three of these esteemed personages together in the same room?

I didn't think so.

This explains the Criterion "It's A Mad, Mad, Mad, Mad World" then. OPRAH can do ANYTHING.

An 80 minute film...featuring an entire Native American cast...made in 1920.

That would be fascinating.

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself.Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Milestone's Dennis Doros posted (on NitrateVille) that they are going to release DAUGHTER OF DAWN this year.

Occasionally other-worldly appearance, when images to which one sees as normal become something else.

Saw that last night.  It hadn't occurred to me to wonder who would be the first to take the leap.  I guess I thought the whole system would implode at once.  Oy!

There was also the fun of watching an errant hair wave in the corner of the frame while the film played.  Or watching the quality of the film deteriorate as we got closer to a reel change.  Or, for that matter, seeing those dots in the right hand corner to notify of a reel change.  The good old days.

(On a different but similar side note, I do recall seeing Doctor Zhivago being screened at a tiny theater in San Francisco.  The film was a bit out of focus, so I spoke to the manager who asked me if I wanted to "set the focus".  Off we went upstairs to the projection room where I stuck my head through the little window and tweaked the focus until it was perfect.  I still recall which scene it was: When Lara and Yuri meet and Lean cuts to the cable creating a spark.  For a fan of the film and David Lean, it was a memorable moment that felt like a scene out of Cinema Paradiso.)
