As Ars says:

"Lots of signs of Cocoa Touch: UITabBar, in-app email views... Also, Helvetica is the new font..."

It's all multitouch folks, welcome to the future. That's the big surprise that's building.

They are going to take over an hour introducing iLife today, there isn't going to be much time to say nearly anything at all about Lion if it is indeed being outted today. Add in the new Macbook Air and no time at all for that...

Ars has spotted a new Facetime / iChat icon.

iDVD icon is NOT in the dock of the machines being used to demo that I can see.

Absolutely AMAZING how you can create trailers

with iMovie '011.

This really gives every other movie-making software

a run for its money.

Well, it depends on what you want to create. It's not going to give FCP a run for its money but yeah, on consumer level it's a nice improvement.

It seems to be optional. If so they are going to sell 10x as many macs as they are right now cause it looks beautifully done AND will increase the developer program 1000%.

It also does not seem to be part of iTunes. VERY smart.

Ah brilliant. A Mission Control Launchpad acts like an iPad layer on OSX for you so that these apps will be sandboxed away from but not infringing on existing 'real' applications that can be gotten the traditional route. So Devs can continue to work the old way AND the new way too if they so choose.

We wantses it. We wantses it bad!

Imagine if apps you bought on iPhone are automatically free for you on day 1 for OSX?!?! Awesome for users, minor dev complaints, but totally awesome and you can create all new 'premium' versions for the main machines.

This keeps getting better.
