In addition, up to 1080i and 5.1 surround for streaming.  YES!

It will be interesting to see what the bandwidth requirements are for 1080p and DD+ 5.1 surround.

They're not offering 1080p, just 1080i.

If you check the announcement, they made a correction indicating support for 1080p.

I installed it today and it looks like the 1080P support is just the PS3 scaling the 720P Netflix stream. The DD+ is nice though.

Here's some thoughts after using the new Netflix interface for a few weeks: Pros: 1.  Doesn't require a disk 2.  Seems to have slightly faster loading when starting a show/movie Cons: 1.  Takes longer to start/load the Netflix interface program than using the disk. 2.  Requires login to the PSN 3.  The interface itself seems to navigate slower than the old version The no disk requirement trumps everything else for me because I was really getting tired of swapping the disk in and out.

I like the interface because it shows more at once and my console automatically logs in to PSN when I turn it on anyway.
