The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--Amazon has pushed back the DVD-R release of Survivor Africa: Season 3 and Survivor Marquesas: Season 4 from this week to October 5.

--Amazon has EXCLUSIVE LIMITED EDITIONS of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (both DVD & Blu-ray
ir
) if you order from them. The sole bonus to their LE seems to be a "Litho Cell" included with the title. There is no image representation of that cell on amazon.com that I can find.

--Also this week presents some very confusing combinations in terms of packaging for Iron Man 2. On DVD there is a 1-disc and a 2-disc release. And on Blu-ray there is a 1-disc release and a combo pack (which has 2-Blu-ray discs--the second disc is full of bonus features--and a third DVD which has both the film and a digital copy). Good luck!

--Best Buy will have DOORBUSTER PRICES on Iron Man 2 on blu this week. For the first two hours of business on Tuesday, September 28, 2010, get Iron Man 2 1-disc Blu-ray for only $19.99 or Iron Man 2 Blu-ray Combo Pack for $21.99. For more details, visit BestBuy.com/IronMan2

--Best Buy has an EXCLUSIVE BLU-RAY TWO-PACK of Get Him to the Greek AND Forgetting Sarah Marshall for just $29.99. Minimum 4 per store. No rainchecks.

--Save $5 @ Best Buy when you buy BOTH The Cleveland Show: Season 1 AND Family Guy: Partial Terms of Endearment on DVD. Products must be purchased on same receipt to receive savings.

--Best Buy has an EXCLUSIVE RELEASE this week of the Blu-ray of the film Legendary.

----Still on the EXCLUSIVE bandwagon...BB has a figurine of Superman available with its copies of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse (Blu-ray only!) this week. Minimum 2 per store. No rainchecks. Offer valid on Blu-ray only.

--Best Buy has the following Blu-ray titles on sale this week:

$17.99: Blind Side, Sherlock Holmes, Where the Wild Things Are, Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince.

--The following Blu-ray titles are in a 2/$20 sale at BB this week:

$9.99: Major League

$14.99: Bram Stoker's Dracula, Resident Evil, Scary Movie, The Waterboy

$17.99 Dirty Dancing

$19.99 The Incredible Hulk, Casino, Waterworld, Grumpy Old Men/Grumpier Old Men (Double Feature).

--And, save $15 when you buy any of the following two movies on Blu (you can also save $10 if you buy any off the list on DVD--Regular price of $19.99 each):

$24.99: Killers, Death at a Funeral

$29.99: Robin Hood, Kick-Ass, Date Night, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, Why Did I Get Married Too?, When in Rome, Repo Men, MacGruber.

--Best Buy Odds and Ends: Best Buy is running a promotion in which you can get up to $30 off on Blu-ray titles with the purchase of select Blu-ray players.

--Target, this week, has EXCLUSIVE PACKAGING with some copies of the Blu-ray Combo Pack of Iron Man 2 (for $36.99). Three disc Combo Pack in a collectible metal case. Quantities limited, no rainchecks.

--Target is also advertising $5 off ANY versions of Iron Man 2 when purchased with The Dark Knight ($13 DVD/$14.99 BD), The Incredible Hulk ($9.99 DVD/$19.99 BD), Wolverine ($13 DVD/$19.99 BD), Iron Man ($14.99 DVD/$24.99 BD).

--You can also get the same $5 off deal at Target if you buy BOTH The Cleveland Show: Season 1 AND Family Guy: Partial Terms of Endearment on DVD.

--Target is advertising "Two Bonus Episodes" with it's copies of Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. They do NOT, however, indicate if that's an exclusive or if it's available on ALL three versions.

--Target Odds and Ends: None to report.

Thanks for posting and helping us sort through all the Iron Man 2 deals Mike. I guess I will try to hit Best Buy Tuesday AM for the 2 disc version. I love the movie Private Eyes, but the last release was pretty bad, so I'll wait before I spring for it on Blu to see what others say...

Hmmmm....wonder what's up with that price on CSI S10 at Amazon? Not very competitive, are they?

$10 for a single Family Guy episode? Will this be on the next season set as well? Guess I know why the episode was "banned" now.

Nothing to buy, but "Babies" is in my Netflix queue. Possibly renting Ellery Queen which I remember enjoying when it originally was broadcast...let's see if it holds up!

I'm more than happy to wait on Iron Man 2 to drop to $14.99 which should happen...right around Thanksgiving. No way I'm going to try to figure out a way to get to BB to get the deal in the first two hours they're open. At my old job, where BB was right across the street from the office, no problem. Now? Um...no.

Same thing goes for King Kong. It'll be cheaper in a month or two either in a brick and mortar store or online. Chances are, though, I'll be getting the new Superman/Batman movie since I'm such a sucker for those kinds of things. And I have to do some reading on the Marvel Knights thing....

I have been waiting patiently for Ellery Queen since the set was announced months ago, and I can't wait for my pre-order to get here. One of my all-time favorite TV mystery series, criminally cut short after a single season, and now to have it in a complete box set checks another dream release off my must-have list.

Thanks Mike and Patrick! Looks like a pretty big week for me...

Superman/Batman: Apocalypse SE Blu-ray

Iron Man 2 (Combo Pack) Blu-ray

Get Him To The Greek/Forgetting Sarah Marshall (two-pack) Blu-ray @ BB

and The Incredible Hulk / Bram Stoker's Dracula on Blu-ray using the 2 for $20 BB deal

I will also get King Kong but am content to wait for the inevitable price-drop on that one.

Thanks for the Roundup. I have Iron Man 2 combo coming from walmart.com ($15 + tax. Pricing error). And I'm really leaning towards Rich Man, Poor Man. That Amazon price is very tempting.

Yeah I'm gonna wait for everything, you Know there will be better deals on Iron Man. I got Burned on Batman Under the Red Hood which dropped to like $10 a week after it came out. Same with King Kong plus I want to wait on Reviews. So Nothing for me I'm in waiting mode

I'm torn. I really prefer the durability of the steelbook packaging over the traditional flimsy plastic cases, but I'm not sure it's worth a $15 premium.

Question about Best Buy doorbuster specials: The Iron Man 2 doorbuster deals will be available online until noon pacific time. If I order it on the website for in-store pickup, can I get the doorbuster pricing?

Not sure...but I wouldn't see why not.

Here is the announcement today on bb.com:

Doorbuster Special!
Score your copy of this can't-miss action blockbuster for an amazing low price.

For the first two hours of business on Tuesday, September 28 at your local Best Buy store — and until approximately noon Pacific Time online — the single-disc Blu-ray edition of Iron Man 2 will be just $19.99, while the two-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack will be only $21.99.

Doesn't sound like there'll be Midnight openings...
