Very excited that PATFD is out on Blu-ray, courtesy of Kino.

Haven't purchased it or seen it, but Dave Kehr had this to say about the release in the NYT recently:

"But to capture that detail the new print seems to have been digitally bleached and brightened; the deep shadows and darkling skies of the old version now seem oppressively cheerful. It’s a reminder that digital restoration is always a tradeoff — that pixels can’t always restore what fading chemicals have taken away."

Can anyone verify this description? What is he talking about exactly: "digitally bleached and brightened"?

Much thanks.
