The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The second biggest movie in history has a sequel being released this week so it's at least worth a rental.  TITANIC 2.  /img/vbsmilies/htf/laugh.gif

Outside of LOST and Simpsons, nothing I even have an interest in.  And those two are going to be purchases down the road when I find them at better prices.  I vow to stay away from any store that sells BD's in the next 2 weeks since I have added 19 new movies to the collection in the last 24 hours.  Another 6 yesterday at FYE...all used, all on sale.

I don't see myself getting much stuff between now and "The National Day Of Insanity" (Black Friday). Upcoming Projects will keep me as poor as a Church Mouse between now and then. There'll still be the occasional "Dealer Cards" in the mail however! /img/vbsmilies/htf/biggrin.gif

Since it'll be a day or two before my review of the City Island Blu-ray is ready, I've added a link to RAH's "A few words about" thread in the meantime.

Completing "Lost" with the Season 6 Blu-ray, this will be shipped this week from Amazon.  That's about it for awhile.

Mike, I hope you don't mind me asking this as normally it's not an issue getting Best Buy's in-store exclusive discs.  Unfortunately again this year, I will be unable to obtain the sixth and final season bonus disc.  I'm also still looking for Season 5's.  If anyone has an extra copy or would be willing to part with theirs, please let me know and we'll talk payment for the shipping & handling.  I'm using a PayPal account.

Thanks very much guys.

Thanks once again for the effort guys. Unfortunately it's yet another lackluster Blu-ray release slate this week. Nothing that I'm even remotely interested save for Time Bandits, but with the many reports of a crappy transfer I'll pass. Looks like l'll be banking my extra cash instead of buying movies. Again. That's not all bad. /img/vbsmilies/htf/smile.gif

I had originally preordered w/ Amazon, but ended up canceling it to make use of Best Buy's $10 GC offer instead (for Dexter S4 + Lost S6 w/ the exclusive bonus disc):

http://www.bestbuy.c...cat217700050020

Amazon was gonna take longer (for free shipping) anyway -- and wouldn't have the exclusive bonus disc.

Do note though that if you want to use that $10 GC offer for Lost S6 (plus one other TV set), you'll probably need to call them up to get them to honor the deal since the website doesn't seem to be set up correctly for it.  They included Lost S6 in the offer list, but somehow don't have it programmed properly -- might have something to do w/ the other $20-25-off deal when purchasing w/ a previous season.

I did an online chat asking about that and then switched to a phone order to get the deal done (w/ in-store pickup).

"Target has the following Blu-ray discs on sale for $19.99:"

I guess in Target's mind, $19.99 is a sale price.

On the topic of Lost, I'll be at Best Buy in the early AM looking to snag a BluRay Season 6 with the bonus disc.

Before everyone writes this week off as a total loss, you may want to take a look at The Square, a film which you likely have never heard of.

At $30 for the Blu-ray it sits squarely in the rental category for me.

Good point. It's a worthwhile film, but at that price I would hold off too.

Not only have I heard of it, but I even saw it in a theater (along with the short film Spider). /img/vbsmilies/htf/smile.gif  It's a great little noir, but I agree that it's pricey.

Another first-rate film in this week's Blu-rays is Ajami, which probably gets overlooked because (gasp!) it's subtitled. It, too, is pricey, but Kino's titles usually are.

City Island has the Robert Harris seal of approval, but no one should buy an Anchor Bay Blu-ray during the first week of release.

Ooh, a Poseidon II and Titanic II double feature would be so, so... depressing.
