So, whenever I visit my girlfriend's parents house, I notice that their HDTV has this really obnoxious tendency of "automatically" zooming and cropping images on the screen. I put automatically in quotes because it seems to just adjust itself out of nowhere, and sometimes the digital cable info "bar" even gets cut off.

For some reason, they don't notice (or maybe they have gotten used to it and don't care). Regardless, I am still trying to find a way to fix it for them without making too big of a fuss about it or sounding like a know-it-all annoying geek...so I don't have too much information.

All I know is that it's a Magnavox, looks like it's LCD, and it looks like it's about 42 inches, maybe? They also have Bright House (Time Warner) digital cable. And they're using a Klipsch receiver to control/automate everything.

I'd very much appreciate any theories out there on what could be the problem.

Thanks, guys & gals!

check for an auto aspect control on both the cable box and also in the TVs user menu.

The Sonodome - circa 2001
The Newest Sonotube - circa 2001
