The Disclaimer

Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

Boy, and the industry wonders why DVD sales are down 20%! That's a pretty weak slate of new releases by any standard. So, another "catch-up" week for me.

Thanks, guys!

Kind of a crappy week on all fronts. Best Buy doesn't even have a whole lot of catalogue stuff on sale. I may have to check out my new favorite store (Fry's) later this week. Anyway, prolly a good thing there's nothing I want, considering just how much I've stimulated the Seattle economy in the last three days.

Thanks, as always, guys. Nice to have some touchstones after a 2300 mile move!

Hey, Jason! Good luck on the move! It will definitely be fun to be checking out all the new stores for software! I feel like I know my local stores like the back of my hand.

Maybe Adam Gregorich will be able to give you some tips on good places!

Hey, Aaron Silverman!

I finally bit the bullet and picked up an FYE Backstage Pass membership (one year for $25).

It gets you 10% off every purchase and access to e-mail coupons (routinely late $5 off any $20 purchase). The coupons are also posted in several internet sites.

I picked up a few things at an FYE store which happened to be going out of business (due to a lease problem, I was told).

Then, I saw a used copy of The Bourne Trilogy for $41.99 in a different store. Minus $4.20 for the 10% discount = $37.79. Minus $5 = $32.79 for the brand new (2010) Bourne Trilogy release.

I feel pretty good about that. And it's one of those deals where the discs and packaging look 100% new.

Thanks Mike! I am very much looking forward to the Seattle meet up and finally being in a place where online folks actually live. Detroit is kind of a black hole for things like that.

I did stop into Fry's on Sunday for a TV stand and three bookcases. Sad part is I need another bookcase for more movies. And to think I moved them all from Detroit in a U-Haul by myself. Yeesh!

As long as you've got all those shiny discs and something to play them on...you should be good to go.

You can always run out and get ketchup and furniture later!

Nice, I also just picked up a copy The Bourne Trilogy from an Amazon seller, brand new for $37.95, and the uk-labelled box set of Band of Brothers new for $39.95...

I saw Best Buy had the BD of From Paris with Love last week for $17.99, almost bought it... I thought the movie was fairly good, or at least entertaining... I liked the humor. Nothing interests me this week...

Troy:

Nice to see that Bourne set finally drop in price, eh?

I thought I had been told that the "new' version of the Trilogy released a few weeks ago had the new flipper discs in it. But it doesn't. Just the straight-up BD discs.

Yes, I could have bought the separate Bourne flipper discs over the past months for slightly more $$ than the box set i got, but I didn't want flippers... whether they would play fine in my Oppo or not, I just don't like the idea of them.
