my friend has one of those old desks with a phonograph and radio. she left it on over night and when she woke up it no longer had sound. When i turn it on, everything lights up, but on phonograph it doesnt spin, on FM the signal light does nothing while adjusting tuning, and no matter AM/FM/Phono there is no sound, even max volume..not even static.

Any ideas where to even start? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Jordon:

Is this a tube system or is it solid state? Who makes it and what model is it?

Jordan:

I had to edit your links.  You can't use the tags.  The HTF doesn't use vbcode anymore and the links didn't work because of it.

I remember back in the 1950's with Tube TV's that many times one or two tubes blowing would cause the picture to shut down, even though the set appeared to be on.   Perhaps that is what happened to this tube stereo.   I guess the first thing to do is to see if you can find an electronics store that can test the tubes for that set and have the tubes tested.

One question in looking at the unit the Turntable seems to have it's original packing material protecting the platter has the turntable ever been used?
