I am thinking about buying the Sony BDV-T11 Home Theater System and hooking up my outside speakers to it. I noticed there is not an Audio out jack to do this. I have been told that these systems are proprietary and do not allow to hook up outside speakers through audio out RCA jacks...... is this true? Is there a way to hook them up to the system? What about other jacks to tap off of?

You can get a speaker switcher and take the outputs off the left and right channel.  It might slightly degrade the sound quality though and you would want to be careful not to run both sets at the same time.
