I need help with a new Home Theatre Projector and screen. I am finalizing the build on my new home, I am now selecting the equipment for my home theatre. My AV specialist is recommending the Infocus 8602 Projector at $ 4999 along with 2.35.1 CinemaScope Lens at $ 4999 with a Stewart Firehawk 2.35.1 60x132 Screen at $ 3444, this is over my budget by a five thousand dollars, any recommendations out there?

Thanks, Mark

WOW!! Does he wear a mask? Is he going to do the entire install? Will he do the install if you buy the projector and screen? Do you want to stick with a DLP projector?

Having sold projectors for a long time its been my experience that customers get an itch to upgrade themselves when they're offered or see something better/desirable.  If you can afford it then it sound like a nice choice but, if you have a budget then stick to your budget and let the salesperson find something you can afford or find another salesperson.  There are alternatives that will give you most of what you want including DIY anamorphic lens (if you want 2.35 on the cheap).

Have you or your dealer done the physical layout for the screen with regard to your seating distance and where you'll put the speakers with that size screen?

There are lots of good choices within your budget but you'll need to give more specific requirements before any informed suggestions could be made.

I agree. What is your room layout going to be? Are you set on the projector and the screen yet? Can you do without the panamorph or is that a requirement?
