Hey Guys, Im after a home stereo that will have the option of connecting a laptop to it to play music files, Is there a wide range of new equipment being released that has this option....Or do some older models allow you to use laptop Pc..any help on this would be much appreciated..

If laptops existed when I got my first stereo back in the early '80's, a laptop could have been connected.  All you need is a 1/4" stereo phono plug to left/right RCA cable and any aux inputs on the receiver.

Depending on the quality of your PC's sound card or on board sound you can go from 2.0 to 7.1 channel sound.   No reason to limit yourself with 2 channel stereo.
