I am setting my HT and I need to decide which projector is the best value.
Are the most expensive JVC and Sony models worth the extra money?

My room is 20 feet long x 17 feet wide x 9 feet height.

Budget is not an issue but I would like to get the projector that provides the most value for the buck. If I can save some money and get equal or comparable value, I would rather spend the remaining money in something else.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

Greetings

The JVC is so much better than the other two.  Best blacks  ... and most accurate ... and even more so after calibration.

Sony is better than the panasonic.

I hate LCD discoloration / uniformity issues.

The JVC D-ILA projectors can be absolutely stunning.  They don't always look good "on paper," but I remember seeing one at a trade show some years ago -- 1920x1080.  16 foot by 9 foot image.  500 ANSI lumens.  Pretty dark.  Fantastic picture.  Excellent contrast.

On the other hand, I've a Panny AE3000.

(Personal bias, I have to admit: I don't deal with Sony -- they come across to me too often as an "evil" company.)

Go with JVC.  Much better performer.  I agree with Michael on his observations based on my experience in the field...plus I've owned a Panasonic in the past.  Never again for those reasons.  It's too distracting.
