Sure thing. You and I seem to be the only ones interested in this sort of thing here, Richard. Perhaps we're posting in the wrong forums?

It's a good thing to keep people up to speed here on the new titles being released by Scorpion, keeping the thread trundling along, even when it appears not many are interested in Scorpion's titles much (it can be disheartening at times). And bear in mind, regarding the level of interest from people here, it's a few weeks into summer. Some threads have quiet and busy times.

A bit about WITHOUT WARNING. This should be an MGM catalog title since it was released by Filmways Pictures. Filmways acqiured the assets of American International Pictures, which went bankrupt in 1979. The company name was changed to Filmways in 1980. In 1982,Orion acquired Filmways after ending its distribution deal with Warner Bros which began in '79.(around the same time of the A-I bankruptcy) Around 1992-93,MGM grabbed the Orion(Non-WB era)catalog. So,technically,W.W. is part of the MGM catalog. MGM should release either as a regular bluray/DVD or,the more likely scenario,as a "made on demand" DVD.

There is some controversy about this title belonging to the Camelot library and not MGM. Very curious where this one lies. There might be some truth to this although it was on MGMHD about a year sgo

Again, and I hate to repeat myself time and time again, MGM controls this title domestically, while Cameloit has always, in the past when they were Liberation, and in the present, all International rights to this title. There is no controversy to this. If Camelot held the rights, you would think it would be out on DVD by now either from Media Blasters, or thru Elite in the past. Camelot does sales outside of the U.S as well, hence why the title is on their web site,

That clears it up nicely. I hadn't remembered that Camelot only controlled foreign. it still is puzzling that MGM after 15 years of DVD have never released this. Hopefully its part of Shout!s package of titles. If they do half as nicely with the title as they did with the HALLOWEENs...the wait would have been worth it

Funny, I don't recall anyone actually clearing up the rights issue regarding WITHOUT WARNING. Plenty of speculation and people guessing, sure, but no confirmation. Thanks Walter for clearing this up (again :)) Either way, the film now has the best chance ever of seeing an official release through Shout because of their deal with MGM. Just a matter of time.
