The press release doesn't really make this clear... does anyone know if the versions of TMP and TUC included in the DVD release of the Original Motion Picture Collection are the original theatrical versions, as they were for the Blu-Ray release?  If so, I believe this is the first time either of these have been released on DVD in their original version.  If that's the case, I may just have to pick this up.

Chad,

I am guessing yes.  This should pretty much be a duplicate of the
Blu-ray release.  However, I will wait until the full specs become
available.

Insurrection sounds like an interesting update for the old special edition. It looks like Paramount finally included the missing audio commentary, or maybe this is a new one - Jonathan Frakes and Marina Sirtis might be fun to listen to. And I hope they get the transfer right this time - the old SE looked really blurry.

Strange, I just noticed that Insurrection isn't listed as being available seperately. Did the press release get cut off, or are they really holding back the other movies?

2,4,6, and 8 are the only individual releases.  /img/vbsmilies/htf/rolleyes.gif@ Paramount

If these match the Blu-Ray specs, VI would definitely be worth grabbing to finally see it in its original 2.35 ratio.

Can anyone confirm the specs on The Undiscovered Country (aspect ratio, version) in either the box set or individual release?

Went ahead and got the individual Undiscovered Country last night.  It is, as far as I can tell, the real theatrical cut in 2.35:1 (even though the packaging erroneously lists the running time as 113 minutes).  The extended version never bothered me that much (except for the flash cuts inserted into the 2004 edition), but after watching the theatrical for the first time in a good long while, I think it plays just fine (and even a little better) without the extra scenes.
