The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain!
If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

How odd. Amazon wants the same price for either the regular DVD or the Blu-Ray of For All Mankind. Guess which one I'm going to get.

Yeah. Criterion's got a stated policy (which they don't always follow) that their SD & BD releases are going to be the same price.

Quick question about the viewing here.....in the table I can only see Amazon and Best B and then it ends because of all the white space to the right. Any way to get rid of that white space and see what is actually posted in the table? This new format is frustrating.

Tommy:

Here's what my tables are looking like. Can you access the rest of the table by scrolling?

What's your resolution set at and what OS are you using (and browser)? We'll see what we can do about getting you fixed up.

Are you using IE7 w/ browser width that's much less than 1280px (like 1024px)? I noticed your problem for IE7 last week:

http://www.hometheaterforum.com/forum/thread/289962/weekly-roundup-7-7-2009/30#post_3581509

If you're using IE7 (or even most other similarly recent browsers), try making your browser wider, preferably to ~1280px wide.

If you cannot go that wide, then for a temp workaround, maybe you can scroll the post display sideways by dragging the cursor across the post body (like the way you'd highlight it) to see if that forces it to scroll for you.

Looks very good for our old Circuit City building being purchased & turned into a Best Buy. Until now I've always had to go through bb.com to get any of the good deals (with BB exclusives) & since CC closed I've only had Wal Mart, Target & K Mart locally to shop at. This'll make the Roundup especially important to me once again if & when BB comes to town. I hope they get the permits at the end of the month and open up in time for the '09 Holiday shopping season (with all those Summer movie dvds).

Even setting my monitor for 1680x1050 I still have the scrollbar problems. I hate this new platform.

Well, I just tried for myself that last suggestion I made for a possible workaround for IE7 w/ less than ~1280px width, and it doesn't work. So it looks like if you're using IE7, you'll need to make sure your browser is set at least close to ~1280px wide to ensure everything is visible inside the post display.

Surprisingly, Best Buy is also interested in going into the old Circuit City in Racine...except that the old Best Buy is right next door to CC! The current location is a pretty big store built 12 years ago and the old CC is about 10-15% smaller. However, the city is reluctant to have BB rework the facade of the old CC building with the same blue/yellow "tag" signing, thus having two of them on the adjacent buildings!

Eric, They couldn't possibly want to have two stores that close to each other, would they? I'd figure they shut down the old store and go newer and smaller.

I know it seems like it would be a lot of effort...but I recently had a big FYE store in a local mall move into a much smaller space right next door to the original location.

Yeah, that's the plan...I guess my original post didn't really make that clear!

I am using IE7 and I can't see to the right of Best B. Funny thing is that when I tried to copy and paste what i am seeing, the whole table comes up. I guess in order to read it, I'll have to do that. I don't know how to change resolution and it seems like 7 is so much more of a pain than 6.

Yeah, did something change this week? I noticed the same thing in the new WRU---I can't see the Target column at all, and the left-right scroll bar is now gone.
