The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, PLEASE just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, Circuit City is still out of business...even in Hawaii (where they NEVER guaranteed their prices anyway).

The Specials

--Both Best Buy and Target are advertising A FREE NECKLACE with their copies of Princess Protection Program. This is NOT exclusive to the two stores…but likely available everywhere. Limited time only.

--More discrepancies between Best Buy’s Sunday flyer and bestbuy.com. Listed above are the flyer prices. Meanwhile, bb.com lists: Eastbound & Down DVD $24.99, Jonas Brothers: 3D Concert Experience (2-disc) DVD $22.99, Stargate - Atlantis: Season 5 BD $32.99.

--At Best Buy, the first seasons of a number of TV series are 50% OFF.

--At Best Buy, get a FREE $5 BB GIFT CARD when you buy BOTH Entourage: Season 5 AND Eastbound & Down: Season 1 together on DVD. Must be purchased on same receipt. Gift card good toward future purchase. Online offer may vary.

--Get a FREE MOVIE VOUCHER to see either Public Enemies or Bruno in theaters when you purchase select DVDs at Best Buy. Shown are American Gangster & Scarface ($7.99 apiece) and The Big Lebowski and Burn After Reading ($11.99 apiece). See in-store display for full selection. Public Enemy in theaters 7-1-09 and Bruno in theaters 7-10-09. $7.50 value. Valid 7-1-09 thru 8-9-09. Minimum 8 per store. Good for either movie at participating theaters. Redeemed on-line using on-pack sticker code. See sticker for details.

--Also, get a FREE EXCLUSIVE COLLECTOR’S PIN SET when you pre-order Watchmen on DVD or Blu-ray at Best Buy. $5 deposit required for each movie pre-ordered. Minimum 5 per store.

--Save 25% on more than 2000 Sony titles at bestbuy.com/dvdsale.

--Best Buy is also advertising an EXCLUSIVE Blu-ray title this week: Rob Thomas: Something To Be Tour Live @ Red Rocks for $14.99. DVD version available for $12.99.

--Best Buy RewardZone members get double points on all purchases @ BB & bb.com when you use your RZ program MasterCard. RZ MasterCard members will earn 2 points for every $1 spent @ BB and BB.com (that’s 4% back in rewards) and will earn 1 point for every $1 of BB Gift Card purchases.

--Best Buy Odds and Ends: A list of titles for $4.99.

--Target has a FREE $10 TARGET GIFTCARD when you buy BOTH the Jonas Brothers: 3-D Concert Experience AND Princess Protection Program DVDs “shown.” Not sure what “shown” means. But, they “show” the cover of the 1-disc Jonas Bros. disc while also giving the price of the 2-disc concert set immediately below. Quantities limited. No rainchecks. Terms and conditions apply to GiftCards.

--And, Target has a number of season sets of TV shows on DVD for sale for $16.99 apiece. Includes seasons 1 of Flight of the Conchords and Secret Life of the American Teenager. Also, seasons 1-4 of Entourage, seasons 1-4 of SNL, seasons 1-10 of Friends, seasons 1-4 of Everybody Loves Raymond, seasons 1-2 of How I Met Your Mother, and seasons 1-4 of Northern Exposure. Each title shown and selected others.

--Target Odds and Ends: Titles for $4.75 and $10.

Thanks guys! The only title I'm interested in this week is Parker Lewis Can't Lose - The Complete First Season, and based on the RoundUp, it looks like I'll have to get it online since none of the B&Ms have it in their ads.

Geez Brett, next story you'll be telling me is that they were called the Dodgers because they had to keep jumping out of the way of the streetcars. Posted Image

I don't understand your initial question then if you already knew the answer to it? By the way, that's a Jackie Robinson jersey he's wearing and there is only one more player left in MLB that can still wear the #42 because that number was retired by MLB. He's the only player still playing MLB that was grandfathered in when that number was retired. Also, that jersery number will be retired again by the New York Yankees because of his HOF accomplishments as perhaps the greatest reliever in ML history. Anyhow, Robinson never played for the LA Dodgers and retired before they moved after they tried to trade him to the Giants.

It seems the number of new releases on DVDs is getting smaller and smaller. Is it the economy or just a lack of new material to be released on DVD?

I'll be picking up Entourage: Season Five and probably the very vulgar and very funny Eastbound & Down: Season One. Thanks for the prices, guys! Posted Image

It might be partly the economy but the summer is a pretty dead time for DVDs anyway.

Yeah, Robert. What he said.

I'd almost chalk him up as a hopeless cause...except I'm trying to get him to take in a Boise Hawks game this summer.

I don't see the vendor names in the top row of price table in either Safari 4 or Firefox 3.5.  Can it be fixed?

Thanks!

^ Until Mike gets here to fix them, you can highlight those fields in the table and see the labels.  The text turned white and, therefore, invisible.

Fixed.

I have a lot to learn before posting next week's Roundup.  I hope everyone is in a "forgiving mood."  I just about got the vb code down and now I've got to learn a whole new way to do this.

The RoundUp made the transfer to the new site fairly unscathed.  There are some minor issues (like the text colors, etc.)...but all-in-all not so bad.
