Coming to DVD September 22, 2009

BURBANK, CA (June 1, 2009) – Crime solving has gone “mental” with the release of The Mentalist: The Complete First Season on DVD September 22, 2009 from Warner Home Video. Starring Golden Globe® nominee Simon Baker (The Devil Wears Prada, “The Guardian”) as Patrick Jane – an independent consultant with the California Bureau of Investigation (CBI), who has a remarkable track record for solving serious crimes by using his razor sharp skills of observation – The Mentalist is the most watched new series in 2008-09*. Fans can own this hit series in a six-disc collector’s set containing all 23 one-hour episodes and never-before-seen extras, including featurettes with the cast and crew and a gag reel. The series also stars Robin Tunney (Hollywoodland, “Prison Break”), Tim Kang (Rambo, “Third Watch”), Owain Yeoman (Generation Kill, “The Nine”) and Amanda Righetti (Friday the 13th, “The O.C.”) and is priced to own at $59.98 SRP. The Mentalist was created and executive produced by Bruno Heller (“Rome”), and is produced by Warner Bros. Television.

“Mentalist, noun. A master manipulator of thought and behavior.” The mentalist is Patrick Jane (Simon Baker in an acclaimed performance), a celebrity psychic whose wife and child are viciously murdered by an elusive serial killer called Red John. Devastated, Patrick admits his paranormal act is fake, renounces his earlier life and uses his astonishing skills of observation and analysis – talents that made him appear psychically gifted – to bring killers to justice. At crime scenes across California, Patrick now helps an elite team of detectives break their toughest cases. But no matter how many criminals he catches, Patrick never forgets his central goal: Find Red John and bring him down.
