I was searching the web a couple of days ago and ran across this.

AMEX | Portable Blu-ray Super Multi Drive for New MacBook

and wondered if you had heard about it so you could have your Blu-ray drive for your MacPro.

The problem with those drives is you can use them for backup and burn your own Blurays from your camcorders but you cannot watch any hollywood movies until Apple supports the full chain through the OS. The first step is done with HDCP support in the OS but they still do not have a viewer app.

You can walk into Frys and get a fast drive from Pioneer, Sony or others for less price too, the big deal with this one seems to be that you can squeeze it into a laptop. For me thats not a useful thing at that price until you can do both, movies and mass storage archiving.

Is what I would buy for my Mac Pro if it could show films too, for example.

Thanks for thinking of me tho!

Apple - Support - Discussions - New Blu Ray Sata Dirve , need to create ...

Plus it comes with free media. I'm sorely tempted.
