Thanks Jason-

That makes sense that if you include QoS, that makes it a 3 movie box set like the other 3 boxes. That also assumes the discs released in May will have the same content, just a different box that matches the current boxes for the 3 sets.

That would be kind of a dick move to people who already bought Quantum, considering they've already sent out official info that doesn't include it as part of this wave.

Yeah Jessie! I bought Quantum and I'll return it now to take advantage of this deal.

I think in May other retailers will be offering a similar set. That's just my theory.

Hopefully film releases continue through the rest of this year. 3 films at a time they could have them all out if they space them out every 2 months.

I'm holding off the box set right now, but am extremely jealous of those getting the Best Buy set! I'm a huge fan of The Man With The Golden Gun and LTK too.

I've decided to hold off until May though to pick them up.

Question. Is there going to be a 3rd Bond title released in May? Or will MGM be issuing Licence To Kill and The Man With The Golden Gun in a box set in May?

It would seem to make more sense to package the 2 older films with another film other than Quantum as most have probably picked it up?

The best I have found thus far is $23.99 from Amazon.

I have preordered Wave #2 and Wave #3 at those prices which
is not bad.
I've been buying them off of Amazon Marketplace each for under $18 including shipping. Not too shabby considering I purchased the 4 Volume US sets of the UE's which broken down came to $7 each from CostCo.
I can't even watch the titles I purchased already considering I don't even own a BD player yet.Posted Image But I have been looking at several image comparison sites.

Speculation is that other retailers will offer a 3-pack of LTK, TMWTGG and QOS similar to the one on sale now at Best Buy.

Since there are only 9 Bond films left to release after these, this does seem logical. The final 9 films can be released in three film sets, same as all previous movies besides Casino Royale.

Thanks. Hopefully they keep the releases coming the rest of the year.

I was actually hoping that the last set (maybe in 12 months or so?) would have a new version of Quantum of Solace.

But I would be more than happy if they would put them out in waves every 2-3 months too.

I just watched Goldfinger tonight and it looked great. I'm glad they included a new exclusive blu ray feature on the Aston Martin. Hopefully they will add a few others to the rest of the films as they come out.

The next one to watch for me is TWINE.

Okay, I'm still confused. I just bought the three volumes from Future Shop and now there isn't going to be a Volume 4?

Volume 4 simply hasn't been announced; there's no reason to believe that it won't continue. (Either they're trying to snooker people into buying the standalone Quantum, or they're being nice and waiting until there's a third catalog disc for volume 4.)

Like information that they are going to release some other good Bond movies, instead of the dregs like LTK?

Come on Edwin, have they released all dregs?

I would think not. There are some genuinely great
Bond titles that have been released such as GOLDFINGER,
THUNDERBALL and LIVE AND LET DIE. Of course,
nobody agrees on their favorite Bond films so my
choices may not be acceptable to yours.

But did you think the studio would release all
the best Bonds right out of the gate? I am still
waiting for THE SPY WHO LOVED ME, which is
one of my favorite Bond flicks -- while certainly
not looking down at what has been released thus far.

I guess I could have worded that better. I wasn't intending to suggest that all Bond releases to date have been the dregs. You have pointed out a few releases that show that that is not the case. THUNDERBALL, GOLDFINGER, DR. NO, FOR YOUR EYES ONLY, and FROM RUSSIA WITH LOVE were all decent releases. LIVE AND LET DIE was okay, but doesn't hold up as well for me now as when I first saw it. LTK, MOONRAKER, and AVTaK will always be the dregs to me. Of course, that doesn't mean I wouldn't buy them if the price was cheap enough. I would like to have a complete run of the Bonds, even the bad ones.

I guess I couldn't expect them to release all the best Bonds immediately, but one could always hope.

I just would have rather seen a minor classic like OHMSS released than a bottom feeder like LTK. They could have released THE LIVING DAYLIGHTS if they wanted to release a half decent Timothy Dalton Bond which, I'm assuming, was the reason for the release of LTK. Dalton's Bond has been MIA in terms of Blu releases.

Honestly, did you think LTK was a good Bond movie? Just curious.

I happened to catch The Spy Who Loved Me on Bravo HD. Wow. The EE and shadows that were visible on the UE DVD are gone now. The blu ray of Spy will look amazing!

That's great news! Hopefully they don't screw it up when it does come.
I guess the earliest we are likely to get these is 3-6 months after the sale goes through- so probably not until summer, at the earliest, and probably closer to fall.
