I just got a 52 " Samasung LCD LN52A540 and I have set up a very nice looking picture but it took lots of experimenting and guessing to get it that way. I found there are many options that are redundant. I could not find any threads on what the setting terminologies actually mean and what they actually do. Some obvious some are not. mIt ay be a good idea to a sticky thread explaining what the various TV brand menu terminologies really mean or do for us "novice HT fans". I know some are personal taste but a better explanation would be helpful.

I highlighted some examples of what is the confusing choices:

Picture: Mode:
Dynamic - Bright room (can use DNIe only)
Standard - Normal Light
Movie - Dark Room

Backlight: 1- 10

Detailed Settings: grays out with Dynamic Mode WHY ?
Black Adjust
Dynamic Contrast
Color Space
Flesh Tone
Edge Enhancement

Picture Options (grays out if you select anything but Dynamic Picture Mode) WHY ?
Color Tone ?
Digital NR ?
? (displays more realistic images on the screen) better to use ?
HDMI Black Level ?
Film Mode ?

Am I making sence with what I am looking for ? Is there a good reference guide out there ?
