The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Just Wall-E & Tropic Thunder for me this week. If Cannibal! The Musical was being released on BD, I'd be picking up 3.

Chris: It's funny...but I joked a week or so ago about not feeling too bad if CC went under and I didn't have to post their prices anymore!

Joseph: Maybe you'd like to add that picture to the appropriate "Tribute" thread! Posted Image

I would not be surprised if Circuit City goes under, as I have seen the overall quality of shopping at their stores decline these past few years.

Man, I was hoping if anything CC went to online only! I constantly get good deals online and get to use my rewards dollars there. The stores near me tend not to get the catalog Blu-rays. This means I'll be doing a lot more driving to use my rewards on movies, and the prices probably won't be as good either.

I was a little suspicious when it took almost a week for them to ship Hellboy 2. They usually go out right away. Little did I know that would be the last movie I ordered!

Simpsons Season 9 at Target for me. Nevermind the fact that seasons 5-8 are still sealed on my shelf... I know I'll get to them at some point.

Oh, and is it just me, or does it seem like it's the same Blu-rays on sale at B&Ms every week? Kubricks, Flags of Our Fathers, Wyatt Earp, Bullit, and Swordfish over and over again while There Will Be Blood sits at $35, mocking me. Oh well, guess I need to man up and buy it used on Amazon.

Thanks as always!

I thought Atomic Cafe: Collector's Edition was supposed to be released this week, but BB has the release date as the 25th. Their pre-order price is outrageous ($34.99)!

Wall-E Blu-ray 2 disc for me (lots of hints to the wife for an early Xmas present!). No use for the damn digital copies... Posted Image

My local BB had the 300 gift set out last week, so someone may be able to pick it up early. Looks like a nice set, but I'm happy with my HD DVD copy.

I'm surprised that my DVD/Blu-ray wants are minor this holiday season. Lost and Dark Knight are really only the major things I am waiting for. I remember last year it seemed like every week from the start of November to the end of December we had a major movie being released! Maybe I am reaching the DVD saturation point in my collecting. My wife would be happy with that.........

I was thinking nearly the same thing. Usually September to November is huge for me (with catalog titles, TV shows and some summer movies) and while there were definitely big weeks, this year didn't have one big week after the other for me. Me and my wallet are OK with that though. Posted Image

Thanks Mike & Patrick.

Tropic Thunder (SD-DVD) and Wall•E (3 disc) (BD) for me this week. Another nice price from Amazon on the BD Wall•E 3 disc - it's cheaper than the SD-DVD Wall•E 3 disc set at the B&M's.

If you are planning on buying Wall•E (any version SD-DVD or BD), there is a $5 rebate available with the purchase of Minute Maid Juices or Juice Drinks.

Buy any (2) Minute Maid® Juices or Juice Drinks in 64 fl oz. cartons, or 10 pack or 15 pack drink boxes, any variety, plus any one of the following on DVD or Blu-ray™: Sleeping Beauty, Tinker Bell, WALL•E or The Chronicles of Narnia: Prince Caspian between 10/7/2008 and 2/16/2009.

Site link: Minute Maid®
Rebate certificate and requirements link (PDF): http://www.minutemai...s/DisneyDVD.pdf

Note that you can submit this rebate once for each title:

Limit (1) rebate per specified DVD/Blu-ray™ title, and (4) rebates per household.

If you're not a juice person, but instead prefer Coke products, and are planning on buying WALL•E on SD-DVD (1 disc), then here is a deal for you at your local CVS / Pharmacy:

Wall•E DVD $19.99 WITH CARD - $10.00 savings when you buy $20 of these Coke Products = $9.99 final sale price after savings

No mail-in rebates on this one - just 2 terms:
[*]Buy the SD-DVD and use your ExtraCare Rewards Card to get it for $19.99
It's free - link: https://www.cvs.com/...e/extracare.jsp[*]Buy $20 in Coke products for a $10 savings on the DVD

Considering these Wall•E beverage tie-in promotions I'm kind of surprised that Target isn't offering a Market Pantry water promotion. Posted Image Posted Image

Without a doubt. All the Kubricks except 2001: A Space Odyssey, though. Independence Day is one I keep thinking I might snatch up if I ever saw it @ $19.99. Cheap mothuh, I am.

Oh. And I forgot to point out this week's price weirdness at amazon on Priceless. $25.99 for the SD-DVD and $18.99 for the Blu-ray. Priceless, indeed! Posted Image

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself.Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

I was a little suspicious when it took almost a week for them to ship Hellboy 2. They usually go out right away. Little did I know that would be the last movie I ordered!

I wonder if this is related to their "one price promise" campaign in their TV ads - if there's no price online then the stores are not constrained.

Thanks for the roundup (and the "Priceless" photo - best promo I've seen).

Sales of Priceless are going to go through the roof this week and the distributor is not going to have any idea why. Posted Image

I should be getting a piece of the action! Posted Image

Though made for children, one title to consider adding:

Doctor Who: The Infinite Quest - animated item, with the voices of David Tennant, Freema Agyeman, Anthony Stewart Head, et al.

Amazon: $7.99
Best Buy: $7.99
Circuit City: $???

Could you guess... two Who for me. I'd add Burke's Law, s1 part 2, but I'd fall over if I found it in a brick 'n mortar this week.

FWIW,

In addition to the Blu Ray prices on the likes of Kung Fu Panda etc... stated above, my local Target in Indianapolis also had each of the individual James Bond Blu Ray titles at 19.99 - similar to what somebody mentioned a couple of weeks back when these first came out.

For those with a Meijer's near by, their Sunday ad lists Wall-E Blu Ray for 16.99.

I'm sure it's just the price for the DVD, but the ad does not state either...
