The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

This is the kind of week that just makes me want to cry. Sweeney Todd, the Bond's, Hulk and, if I weren't such a damn pansy when the BF is gone, The Strangers. In all likelihood, it'll be Hulk and ST on Tuesday. Maybe some Bond's come Thursday and payday...

Mike:

Is the Hulk collectible packaging at Target only for the SD version, or is it available in Blu-ray as well? I'm thinking SD only, but one can hope!

If anyone is interested in 'The Silence of the Lambs:Collector's Edition' DVD at Best Buy, you may encounter a pricing problem.

The ad says $6.99 for the Collector's Edition (as noted by the spine in the ad), but they have two SKU's for the same item - 4224379 and 8237142. The only difference is the cover (one is lenticular), as both share the same extras and UPC code - 027616065841.

I believe you can get SKU 8237142 from Best Buy's site, but it shows the cover for SKU 4224379 (!).

Until recently, Best Buy's site had the DVD for around $11.00, noting an $8 savings, but luckily changed it.

This problem might have been corrected by the time you get to your Best Buy, that is if you don't already have the DVD.

John: It looks like it's only on the Target versions of the SE SD-DVD. The Blu-ray is listed @ $27.99 with no picture. That's too bad. I hope that if they continue to have retailer exclusive (and it looks like they are here to stay) that they extend them to Blu-ray as well. I see, occasionally, that they do...but usually only when it is not an "on pack" situation...like the Hulk lithographs at Best Buy this week.

I'll be picking up Looney Tunes Golden Collection Volume Six and the Halloween remake and The Strangers on Blu-ray. And I'll start buying the Bond Blu-rays here and there too.

Thanks for the prices, guys! Posted Image

Thanks, Mike, for the info. I thought as much when I got the Target ad and looked at it today. Would have made a nice go-together with the Iron Man Blu-ray from a couple of weeks ago.

The lithographs at BB are on pack? They must be really small or folded, so either way, those are out. Guess I just get the Hulk in the "Green-ray" packaging, then.

Surprised there is no advertising for the Man from U.N.C.L.E. release. I'll still be looking for it in-store.

Nooooooooooo!

John: You mis-read my post. The lithos are NOT on-pack...which is why they can give them out with BOTH SD & BD titles!

It'll be in briefcase-style packaging, John...if you can find it in-store. Looks pretty cool! Posted Image

There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself.Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

So many titles, so little money...

James Bond BD (Dr. No, From Russia with Love, Thunderball), Incredible Hulk BD, Lonney Tunes Vol 6 (hoping for a good Costco deal), and LittleBigPlanet (PS3 game which may not come till next week).
DVD & Blu-ray - It's all about the movies!

The Rays were good all season...from April to October.

And that's coming from a lifelong Red Sox fan.

Bond fans who have a Fry's nearby, take note: The individual Bond Blu-Rays are going for $16.99 apiece on Tuesday. This is off of a Houston Fry's ad; local results may vary but I'd be surprised if this wasn't a chain-wide deal.

That's a kick-ass price both for Bond cherry-pickers AND for those of us who are staying away from the three-packs because of the packaging.

Three truths about movies, as noted by Roger Ebert:

* It's not what a movie is about, it's how it is about it.

* No good movie is too long, and no bad movie is short enough.

* No good movie is depressing, all bad movies are depressing.
