What is everyone listening to? Write down what's on your playlist and why.
I have Rose Rossi. Her song "Hello To You" has been on repeat for me, she has this Fiona and Tori vibe about which I love. Check out her myspace, she's worth it!

Well, this morning I've been listening to a lot or European "Goth Metal."
First up is the "Werks 80" double CD by Atrocity, which is 20 cover versions of mostly famous songs from the 80s. Most of the usual suspects are included: "People are People," "The Sun Always Shines on TV," "Smalltown Boy," "Don't You Forget About Me," and "Forever Young." As ridiculous as it may sound, there's a LOT to like here, especially since I never really cared for the original versions...
Then I listened to "The Poet and the Pendulum" and "Amaranth" from Nightwish's excellent "Dark Passion Play," and ended my morning commute with "Lucretia My Reflection" by Warrel Dane, which is the BEST Sisters of Mercy cover I've ever heard. Warrell's American (and the lead singer for the underrated Nevermore).
Quite a morning for me music-wise if I do say so myself...

I'm just at the finale of Eldorado, by Electric Light Orchestra. Like Don, I tend to listen to a lot of Euro goth. I have about half the stuff he mentioned. That Atrocity sounds interesting.

Metallica "Death Magnetic"

Listening because after their long absence and recent slew of underwhelming releases, I wanted to hear if Metallica still had "it." They do, in spades. This new album ROCKS.

Martinu Symphony #1

He's a lesser-known 20th century (1890-1959) Czech composer. His six symphonies have become favorites of mine.

That Atrocity sounds interesting.
It IS, and I'm much more into 80s thrash and speed metal, as well as traditional and power metal, but I love the "atmospheric" feel of so-called "Goth Metal." Now I've gotta listen to some Theatre of Tragedy...
Beware with Atrocity, there's also a cheesy death metal band with the same name. Most of the GOOD Atrocity releases feature a latex-clad vixen on the cover (ANOTHER reason I like them).
