CENTURY CITY, Calif. – Escape to the Jungle of Nool with the loveable and 100 percent faithful Horton the elephant as Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment (TCFHE) releases the animated, $294 million worldwide box office hit Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! as a Two-Disc Special Edition DVD and Blu-ray Disc (BD) including Digital Copy December 9. One of Dr. Seuss’ all-time classic children’s books, Horton Hears A Who (1954), comes to life with the help of an all-star voice cast including Golden Globeâ winner Jim Carrey* (How The Grinch Stole Christmas, Bruce Almighty), Golden Globeâ winner Steve Carell** (“The Office,” Get Smart), and six-time Emmyâ Award winner Carol Burnett*** (“The Carol Burnett Show”). “Razzle-dazzling and artful” (Claudia Puig, USA Today) and “more faithful in spirit to the source material” (Lou Lumenick, New York Post), Dr. Seuss’ whimsical tale imparts to children and adults alike the meaning of compassion, forgiveness and faith.

Designed to generate in excess of over 1.6 billion consumer impressions, the Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears a Who! DVD marketing campaign, TCFHE’s largest campaign this year, encompasses an aggressive and multi-layered effort including cross-promotions with three extraordinary partners – Macy’s, with whom Horton will act as the retailer’s official Holiday Ambassador as well as take flight in the annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade; Energy Star in an educational partnership to promote energy-efficient products and practices as a way to reduce the amount of greenhouse gases; and L’Oréal Kids, who is producing four Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!-inspired hair shampoos. With a campaign of over $25 million combined, the television, print, internet and radio advertising will be begin pre-street, continue through street date, the critical holidays shopping period and well into the New Year.

SPECK-TACULAR PARTNERS
· MACY’S – As the official Macy’s Holiday Ambassador, a 66 feet long, 36 feet wide and 48 feet tall Horton helium balloon will grace the New York City streets in this year’s 82nd annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. The partnership with one of the country’s flagship retailers also includes an exclusive Horton plush, to be available at all 800 stores nationwide. With an estimated reach of more than 1.6 billion impressions, the multi-million dollar campaign includes TV, print and radio support, direct mail plus in-store exposure including themed shopping bags, point-of-purchase displays and in-store events. · ENERGY STAR – TCFHE and Energy Star, a joint program of the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency and the U.S. Department of Energy, have teamed up to help to promote energy-efficient products and practices. Utilizing the Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!’s message that every person matters (and can help the larger community) “no matter how small,” Energy Star will launch a multi-media TV and Print PSA campaign aimed at children demonstrating how they can make a difference and save the environment. Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!–themed activity books and tip sheets will be distributed to schools, Energy Star partners and retailers. The televised PSA will also be aired nationally on network and cable outlets, as well as on the Energy Star website.

· L’ORÉAL KIDS – From “Horton’s Whoberry,” “The Mayor’s Melon,” “Jo Jo’s Juicy Cherry” and “Kangaroo’s MangoRoo,” a variety of Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who!-inspired 2-in1 shampoos will be produced by L’Oréal Paris, the biggest beauty brand in the world. Distributed to retailers across the country, 300,000 units will be produced and will be supported with on-pack, POS, and online advertising, and shall feature the DVD packshot and DVD availability message.

A “funny, elevating ride that should beguile the young and keep their parents or grandparents enthralled too” (Richard Corliss, Time), Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who! also stars Will Arnett (Blades Of Glory), Seth Rogen (Knocked Up), Jesse McCartney (Alvin And The Chipmunks), Amy Poehler (“Saturday Night Live”) and Jaime Pressly (“My Name Is Earl”). The Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who! Two-Disc Special Edition DVD and Blu-ray Disc (BD) including Digital Copy are loaded with bonus features, big and small, including commentary with directors Jimmy Hayward and Steve Martino, eight featurettes, exclusive deleted footage and the debut of the Ice Age short “Surviving Sid.” The Dr. Seuss’ Horton Hears A Who! BD release will be presented in widescreen format on a 25GB single-layer disc authored in AVC (MPEG 4) compression with English 5.1 DTS HD Lossless Master Audio, Spanish/French 5.1 Dolby Digital plus English, Spanish, Cantonese, Mandarin, Korean and French subtitles. BD bonus content includes exclusive special feature:
