Why are you posting in this area about BR when it should be in HD software?

Nope///Mine were $35. SAND PEBBLES and LONGEST DAY look pristine an sharp..the sound is extraordinary.
However they do not match the amazing BD of PATON which was originallly shot in 70MM.

Had Patton on order for a while, looking forward to it. Good to hear it stacks up.

Haven't pulled the triger on The Longest Day yet, I just may wait for a sale.

I like Sand Pebbles but that one would have to be in the $15 range.

What's the status of the roadshow version of Sand Pebbles?

Enough is enough, Disney. We DEMAND the release Song of the South on Blu-ray.

I've been buying my Blu-Ray DVDs through Amazon's Marketplace Merchants. I've been able to buy a majority of them for $20 or less, not all, but a majority.

Do all three have the same extras that were on the Special Editons DVD's? Also is Sand Pebbles the Roadshow Version?

Thanks.

These three titles are available at Amazon in a special bundle for $65.95. They have other bundled titles as well.

In the case of PATTON, yes, all extras from the 2-disc Cinema Classics version (this one: Posted Image) have been retained (thank The Maker!). However, one notable change on said Cinema Classics version is that the audio essay "The Historical Patton" by historian Charles Province runs only 53 minutes, when it ran a full 81 minutes on the earliest DVD release (this one: Posted Image). So which version of the audio essay do we get on the new Blu-ray, with all of its copious storage space? The 53 minute edited-down one...bleh. So if you have the SD of the Cinema Classics version, sell it and pick up the Blu-ray; but if you're a completist, don't sell off the original DVD release...

One review I've read says the isolated score is included. IIRC, it was the background to a stills gallery.

The isolated score is reportedly on the supplemental DVD that is included with the blu-ray disc:

Sadly There is no Roadshow version of Sand Pebbles; only deleted Roadshow version scenes in the special features which is clumsily put together.

Are you kidding me?

Nice going, Fox. I guess I'll pass on this one and buy the (gulp) DVD.

Are they going to pull this with, say, South Pacific or any other film with an extended cut? Heck, they already left it out of Independence Day.

What gives? Seriously.

Enough is enough, Disney. We DEMAND the release Song of the South on Blu-ray.

IMO, the theatrical version is better than the Roadshow version.
