The Disclaimer
Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Those are some high prices on the National Treasure Book of Secrets 2 disc. I guess I'll be getting it at CC with a BB pm unless Wal Mart has it around $22-$23. It's closer & my brother might be able to get it for me with his employee discount.

Thanks guys! Just Square Pegs for me. I am a bit nervous because I have yet to see a review. I just hope it isn't butchered because of music clearance issues. Regardless, for twenty bucks, I'm in. I haven't seen most of these episodes in 20+ years...

I'll be picking up 24: Season One (which is $39.99 on Amazon) and Diary of The Dead this week. I want to pick up Night Of The Living Dead but since I own it on LD and two times on DVD already, I'll wait for the rumored Blu Ray release.

Thanks for the prices, guys! Posted Image

I think I can...

I think it is THIS PARTICULAR TITLE. Although the on-line price doesn't reflect the sale, the $4.99 flyer price reflects a sale of "up to 50% off" which would be correct.

Here's the picture from the ad. It is eighth-from-the-bottom in the right-hand stack of titles.

Getting quite a few of this week's releases. Both Blu National Treasures (thanks to Amazon's 2/$40 deal), Short Circuit Blu, Bee Movie Blu and Bulls**t S5. I'm also debating whether to pick up the 24 S1 rerelease.

Bee Movie in Blu-ray isn't until June 3, Scott.

==================================

BTW, I'd like to put in a plug for the release of Stephen Sondheim's "Company" which comes out this week. It aired on "Great Performances" on PBS a couple of months ago and is fantastic. It was done during the 2007 Broadway revival of the show. Some of you may have seen the original cast of Company in DA Pennebaker's 1970 documentary on the recording of the original cast album (Elaine Stritch, Dean Jones, Beth Howland, Charles Kimbrough, Barbara Barrie, et al--including Sondheim).

Anyway, this new version...headed up by Raul Esparza...is a terrific staging (most of the actors play musical instruments during the production!) and it looked and sounded great when aired on PBS HD.

I only got to see a little bit of Company in HD when they aired it -- I was PSYCHED to find out that they were putting it out on Blu so soon! Nice to see it included here.

Anyone know if the disc includes any extras?

Anyone know if the disc includes any extras?

Aaron: The only things I've been able to glean from internet research is that the Blu-ray is a two-disc set (leading me to believe there are some bonus features of some sort).

And, THIS NEWS STORY about upcoming IMAGE BD releases.

Is it just me, or is anyone else as astonished as I am that one of the week's biggest releases (if not the biggest) is not included in the Round-Up? Of course I am referring to Wrestlemania XXIV (24)! Just call it one of life's guiltly pleasures (for my 14 year-old son).

In order to rectify this huge injustice, here are the details, prices, and promotions for Wrestlemania 24 (in accordance with paragraph 3 of "The Disclaimer"):

WWE: Wrestlemania 24 [DVD]
(Full Frame, Limited Edition, 3PC)

Release Date: 5/20/2008
Rated: TV14
Genre: Sports
Dubbed: Spanish
Original Language: English
Run Time: 480 Minutes
aka: WWE: Wrestlemania XXIV
Studio: World Wrestling
UPC: 651191946662

Amazon: $22.99
Link: Amazon.com: WWE WrestleMania 24: John Cena, The Undertaker, Floyd Mayweather, Ric Flair, Triple H, Edge, Big Show, Shawn Michaels, Randy Orton, Batista, Umaga: Movies & TV

Best Buy: $22.99
WWE: Wrestlemania 24 - Fullscreen Dubbed Limited - DVD

Circuit City: $19.99
Wrestlemania 24 DVD

WWE: Wrestlemania 24 [Blu-ray]
(Full Frame, 2PC)

Release Date: 5/20/2008
Rated: TV14
Genre: Sports
Dubbed: Spanish
Original Language: English
Run Time: 540 Minutes
aka: WWE: Wrestlemania XXIV
Studio: World Wrestling
UPC: 65119194679

Amazon: $29.95

Best Buy: $29.99

Circuit City: $29.99
Link: Wrestlemania 24 Blu-ray

Target prices are not available at the present time because Target apparently did not see fit to include the Wrestlemania 24 release in this week's ad (another travesty in my son's eyes).

The only promotion noted this week for Wrestlemania 24 is at Ciruit City: Free Mini WWE Signature Moves Book (aka "Fake Fighting: Making it Look Real for Dummies")(Posted Image) with purchase.

Thanks as always Mike and Patrick for the Round-Up.

For me this week: NT2: BoS is a definite (most likely BD). Debating on whether to pick-up the first one now on BD, or to wait. Both movies on BD for $40 at Amazon is mighty tempting.

Mike - an update for the grid for National Treasure: CE (Blu-ray) at Circuit City. My ad for this week shows both NT BD's at $27.99 each. In addition, CC.com is showing the $27.99 price for NT: CE as well.

Jeff: Awesome post! Posted Image

What can I say about a RoundUpper who "gets it?" Posted Image (and I'm not just talkin' 'bout Paragraph 3 of "The Disclaimer!"

Just terrific. I hope you and your son enjoy the disc...wherever you decide to purchase it!

We had discussions way back in the day about whether to include WWF(E) discs in the RoundUp. Nobody seemed all too interested in them. I kept paring them back and noone ever seemed to complain. When I saw the Wrestlemania disc in this week's BD releases, I gave it a second thought...but that's about all. I would, as always, be open to hearing from rasslin' fans who wanted the WWE discs included back into the RoundUp.

I don't know if anyone has noticed this either...but I have also cut back the number of young children's releases I include each week. No Curious George or Bob the Builder here any more! But I do let a few Backyardigans and Wiggles slip through alongside out old standby Dora and Scooby releases (mostly for Andrea W's crew! Posted Image )

========

And thanks for the price correction! Grid has been updated.

I apologize to anyone else who maybe has posted price updates/corrections and I've forgotten to thank. If it looks like I missed your post, I might have...but reast assured others have seen the info and used it to their advantage.
