I never realized just how many shows that I really love have been abandoned or stalled. It's a much bigger list than I would have thought. Here are my top 10+ most disappointing abandonments:

1) LEAVE IT TO BEAVER (no doubt this one hurts the most)
2) HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL (halfway finished, what happened?)
3) BIG VALLEY (cut off right in the middle of a season - ridiculous)
4) VOYAGE TO THE BOTTOM OF THE SEA (1 Season short of finishing and they up and quit?!!!)
5) DANIEL BOONE (this one is stalled because of distribution problems - ughhh)
6) HAZEL
7) GREEN ACRES
8) PARTRIDGE FAMILY
9) THAT GIRL
10) QUINCY
11) MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW
12) BEVERLY HILLBILLIES
13) PETTICOAT JUNCTION
14) KOJAK
15) DISNEY TREASURES - SWAMP FOX & ELFAGO BACA
16) FLIPPER

And I could probably add "THE LONE RANGER" to the list because only one season was ever released (the 5th season) several years ago. But never any follow up. There are probably a few other 70's shows I could have added, but I've already listed far more than I expected when I started this reply. It's really shocking that there are so many abandoned shows out there.

Gary "crazy stuff when you think about it" O.

Back in December B Ward at Shout Factory said they haven't canceled That Girl.

Right. I was aware of that because I monitor Brian's posts at the Shout! boards. But since he couldn't give a definitive date I felt I could place it here. It may not be officially "abandoned", but it is definitely sitting in limbo. And those type releases should be included.

Gary "but thanks for the info" O.

King of the Hill is the most crushing for me. I'd also have to say Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (if it has been abandoned for sure) and Malcolm in the Middle

For me it's the Mary Tyler Moore Show, followed closely by the Bob Newhart Show (I would've included Barney Miller, but it looks like Sony is giving it another shot). I'm also really disappointed that there won't be future DVD releases of This Is Wonderland or Made in Canada, but at least I have both series on DVD-R.

Limbo should not be considered the same as "abandoned." Until Marlo Thomas complains that the show was abandoned by Shout Factory;
I wouldn't make it sound like fact that this series is dead at three.

They haven't completely given up on the series since they are floating the first DVD of the first boxset on May 6 as a solo release.

although if people want to beef up the sales, amazon has all three seasons for $22.99 each
