OK Rules first:

---
All ya gotta do is post below listing your favorite Steven King film adaptation. Will pick 4 winner round 10 PM tomorrow, so be sure to be in before then!

-Open to residents of US/Canada only.
-Winners must have been registered HTF members before noon today.
-Limiting winners to one HTF prize a month max
-HTF staff prohibited from winning.
-All decisions by me and the HTF owners are final in case of a dispute or tie =)
-Editing posts or threads will result in disqualification.
-Void where prohibited etc. This is done for entertainment value only and no prize substitutions are possible.

Simple and logical enough?

4 Winners will be selected at random using Random.org's random integer tool! All 4 will be selected at once so nobody can win more than one prize. Heres the twist tho, the winners, in order, will get their choice of the prizes just to make it interesting =)

Prizes:
Steven King's The Mist 2 disk collectors edition DVD
Atonement 4 star collection DVD
Sam and Max Freelance Police, the complete animated series
Disney's Johnny and the Sprites, meet the sprites

So a little something for everyone! Just tell me your favorite King big screen adaptation, that's it!

(BTW, mine is easily Shawshank, people are shocked when they learn that SK wrote that!)

Damn Sam, I just can't not do it. I've tried to type a different movie name several times just to be different, but I can't physically make myself.

Shawshank, Shawshank, and Shawshank.

Forgive me, but Shawshank is one of favorite if not the favorite by any writer.

"Carrie" was one heck of a horror film, with great performances, and gutsy, memorable and appropriately risky direction from Brian Depalma. What a way for Depalma to really announce himself as a mainstream filmmaker, and a magnificent first adaptation of Mr. King.

Yes, King hates the Kubrick adaptation (and I've choked down the Mick Garris one) but my pick is still

THE SHINING

with

THE SHAWSHANK REDEMPTION
and
THE DEAD ZONE

taking up the slack (though THE MIST is pretty great)

Misery pretty damn good, adaptation

now for fluff, i also love Maximum Overdrive, King directs his own short story, and has a kick ass AC/DC soundtrack.

I would have to go with "The Langoliers". I know this wasn't even close to the best movie (tv movie), but I really dug the story for some reason.

If TV movies don't count, I would go with "Green Mile".

I vote for my favorite of all big screen and little screen adaptations to be the original tv production of "Salem's Lot." For theatrical production I will go with "Stand By Me." I've watched them both many times and they still hold up well.

I would also have to say Shawshank as my favourite Stephen King adaptation. My wife and I love movies with twists at the end, and Shawshank's ending is one of the best for that. I have not read the book yet though, and I'm thinking now that I really should.

For a tv adaptation, I really liked It. That was one creepy clown.
