The Disclaimer Standard disclaimer: All prices are taken from the websites of each chain, or from their printed Sunday advertisements. All prices are subject to change by each chain. Prices and inventory in-store may or may not match the website price.

"LP" in the RoundUp table means a store’s Sunday flyer says "Low Price". That means I could not locate a definite price for the item, and the ad is all I have to go on. Retailers use these phrases in advertisements so that they do not violate MAP (Minimum Advertised Price) agreements with the studios. Doing so can cost them thousands or even millions of dollars in co-op advertising funds.

I, obviously, cannot include EVERY title released in a given week in the RoundUp. The titles included are those that I am interested in...as well as those which I consider will be of interest to a majority of consumers (and sometimes I’ll miss one!). I don't get paid for this, and I don't have the time to list every DVD. So, please don't complain! If there is a title not included in the RoundUp that you want to see, just look it up yourself, and be nice enough to post and share the results with everyone!

Note that I cannot include Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club prices in the RoundUp. They set prices at individual stores based on nearby competition, so there is no way I can say here what price you'll find at YOUR local Wal-Mart/Sam’s Club location. And, as always, Circuit City does not guarantee their sale prices in Hawaii.

Also being released on Feb. 12:

Peter's Friends. Under the MGM/UA label. First DVD release and first widescreen version available (at least in region 1). It's a personal favorite, directed by Kenneth Branagh from a script by Rita Rudner and her husband, starring Branagh, Rudner, Emma Thompson, Hugh Laurie, Imelda Staunton and Stephen Fry.

Amazon has it for $9.99.

Thanks as always Mike & Patrick!

I'll pick-up Gone Baby Gone and No Reservations at Best Buy for $14.49 each ($16.99 each x 2 - $5.00 off purchase of both), and use a couple of $5.00 Rewards Certificates on top of that.

I'll probably rent Becoming Jane and We Own the Night.

I'm going to order 2 copies of Zapped! from Amazon - I'll use one for my "watching" copy and keep the other sealed for it's future collectible value.

Thanks again guys!

You should probably hold out for the inevitable 3-disc Criterion Collection treatment, Jeff.

I'm sure Criterion will ditch the awful cover art and use the original poster for their version!

Mike,
That's Katharine Houghton not Sandy Dennis in the "Guess Who's Coming To Dinner" pic.

Mark: Thanks a lot! Now...can you answer me this? I never even looked up the cast. For some reason I had it in my head that Sandy Dennis was in that film. I wonder why? Maybe she is easily confused with Katharine Houghton? You knew who I meant! :D I certainly would have lost Final Jeopardy on that question.

Mike,

It looks like IN THE SHADOW OF THE MOON is $14.98 at Best Buy, not $17.98 (but if my Costco carries it for $13, I'm gettin' it there!).

The WB Animation Collection would be worth it just for Chuck Jones' "The Dot and the Line"...

A lot of "maybes" this week, but nothing definite. I'll probably eventually pick up In the Shadow of the Moon, Zapped and Gone Baby Gone (Blu-ray, I've heard a lot of good things about that). If it doesn't overlap with a lot of the shorts I already have on various DVDs, I may get the 3-disc WB animation set (though I don't think there will be enough new stuff to make it worthwhile).

Does it have to be a certain type of lid or will any lid do?

Wow, I'm actually excited for the first time this year. I only have 2 vhs tapes left in my collection, and they're both George of the Jungle collections. I'll definitely be picking this up this week, though I can only hope and pray that it's truly complete (e.g., Super Chicken and Tom Slick also).

Thanks to your always insightful RoundUp, Mike and Patrick, this looks to be a way more interesting week than I first thought. George of the Jungle has been calling my name ever since I first heard about it, but I have to admit, I was totally unaware of the Warner Bros. Home Entertainment Academy Awards Animation Collection.

Also, when I saw that listing for The Bubble, I was thinking it was the old Arch Obler (of Lights Out radio fame) 1960's flick, but I assume that this is something else...

Lastly, I will NetFlix Gone Baby Gone (since I have heard good things about here on the Forum) and In the Shadow of the Moon. I saw Moon when it opened the True/False Film Festival last March. It is a stunner and comes highly recommended.

I'm still trying to figure out if there are enough films in the Oscar collection that I don't already have (either in the Looney Tunes collections or as extras on various dvds) to make it worth purchasing.
