Somewhere in the back of my mind, I have a memory that Adam is from New Zealand. That would fit with some of the comments on other boards I've read that RC Draft is available there. I wonder if it's available here in the States, because RC does have it on their website. I sent them an e-mail but no replies as of yet. Don't you have to have a membership to buy at Costco? I'd like to try some Mexicoke, but I don't want to join up just for it or even just to find out they don't have it. I don't know how they are, but I know Sam's Club doesn't even like you walking around in there if you aren't a member. One time, I said, "Can I look around to see if I want to join," and they grudgingly allowed me to do so.

I went to sodafinder.com and found the diet version of my favorite soda for $28 for a 12 pack. I love Diet Squirt, but I'm not gonna pay that much. I brought back 5 12 packs from Denver in my suitcase on a trip in September. That cost me about $60 because of the overweight suitcase fee and I shipped my dirty clothes home UPS, but 60 cans is better than the 24 at that price on sodafinder.com.

Tony, Greg is quite correct. I'm in New Zealand. I get four-packs from the supermarket and individual bottles from convenience stores (or a petrol station across the road from my workplace that also carries Coke with sugar in glass bottles).

RC Draft is bottled under licence in Australia by a company called Bundaberg Brewed Drinks. They also make some other fantastic own-label drinks like naturally brewed ginger beer, lemon, lime and bitters, peach, sarsparilla and berry.

There are a quite a few other specialty colas that use cane sugar or honey here, but none of them come close to RC Draft. It's also available in Japan from a local company under licence from Cadbury Schweppes.

Hmmmm, we get Bundaberg ginger beer and some other varieties imported here. I guess I'll have a look to see if the RC Draft makes it here too... For that matter, I should have a look to see if our Coke uses sugar or HFCS. Sugar being a tropical product, it must surely be cheaper for our local bottlers to use that anyway, but since I'm not a regular soda drinker, I don't know off hand.

I am a total Pepsi junkie. Pepsi does make a Kosher for Passover Pepsi with sugar. Last year the 2 liter bottles had a white cap. I buy as much as possible and even tell my friends to be on the lookout for it. I live in Brooklyn, NY near a large Jewish community, so I can find it with relative ease.

Just go. Tell yourself you're going to see where Lord of the Rings was filmed. Only a small part of you will realize you're there just for the RC.

Sugar is almost always cheaper. In the states, sugar is sold at a artificially high price.

I would like to see Michael Moore do a doc on the corn subsidies, HFCS and the sugar industry.

Yahtzee! I went into 7-11 to look for Caffeine Free Coke and instead found MexiCoke with sugar! I only bought one bottle, and I won't be able to try it until this weekend. I want to go ten days without caffeine, and that won't be up until Saturday. At that time, this will be my one indulgence. Can't wait.

I'm crazy about Mexican sodas; where I live there's a Hispanic tienda where they have Mexican Coke, Mexican Pepsi, Mexican Sprite, Mexican Squirt, Mexican Fanta, and Mexican Fresca (which has no discernible difference in taste as it uses aspartame). They also have Jarritos, which is a Mexican fruit soda. I ordered Dublin Dr. Pepper and I enjoyed it, too, but the shipping on these drinks in large quantities is more than the actual product. We get Kosher for Passover Dr. Brown's in the stores here, but not the KFP Coke. When I was in New York last year during Passover I tried in vain to find it; all the stores that would likely sell it were closed, even on the Lower East Side; the stores that were open didn't have it. I had no idea the US Gov't were suing to remove tariffs for HFCS. Considering that there is practically no sugar grown in the USA (not nearly enough to support the whole food industry), the only way around it would be to grow sugar in greenhouses, but that would probably be more expensive. I would like to see someone (not Michael Moore, because if he did it the debate would be framed by the public in partisan terms) do a documentary about the sugar tariffs. If it weren't for Archer Daniels Midland and their political influence none of us would be having this discussion. However, even if these tariffs were removed, would US bottlers want to pay to refit their machines for sugar, since they did so for HFCS not so long ago (about 20-25 years)?

Enough is enough, Disney. No more evasions or excuses. We DEMAND the release Song of the South on Blu-ray along with the uncut version of Bedknobs and Broomsticks on Blu-ray. I am going to boycott The Walt Disney Company until then. And while you're at it, PLEASE stop dropping DVD/laserdisc extras from Blu-ray releases of other films.

Does anyone know if the documentary "King Corn" looks at HFCS? I've never been a fan of cola flavor, but I recently tried Jones Cola, which uses cane sugar and I like it. I'm sure part of it is knowing it doesn't have HCFS, but I do like the generally smoother quality of it.

I tried a bottle of Vitamin Water the other day and in reading the ingredients, I see it has cane sugar listed there as well. While I'm sure it is nothing more than a fad, I actually did like the taste of it. I don't kid myself that it is somehow good for me, but the wife and I don't really like soft drinks so I find this a nice alternative.

Jumped the gun and am trying the Mexican Coke now. Surprisingly enough, I don't really like it. It tastes like cold medicine. I don't know if it's that I'm used to corn syrup Cokes, or I just got a bad one. I've had Coke Classics that tasted like medicine, too, so maybe that's it. Disappointing. I have tried the sugar Dr. Pepper, and that's way better than regular Dr. Pepper, so I know it's not just me not being used to the cane sugar taste.

Passover is coming up and I went to my local Wegman's supermarket and found exactly one bottle of Kosher Coke on the shelf. I made it mine and it is yummy.

Thank a lot, Michael. Thanks a lot. I use that supermarket, and I was hoping to try some.
