Dear Guys:

In 2008, what DVD releases would you like to see that haven't come out yet. For regular movies, just list; and for tv shows just list five.

For myself, I would like to see
1) Duck Dodgers
2) Hyper Monkey Ninja Force
3) Xiaolin Showdown (seasons 2-4)
4) Superboy (seasons 2-4)
5) Adam West Batman (I can dream, can't I)

Movies
1) Old Dark House (1964-Tom Poston version)
2) What's so Bad About Feeling Good? (with George Peppard and Mary Tyler Moore)
3) Adventures of Horace Prince of the Sun

I guess that's it for me. What about you guys?

Most of my top ones are in my sig but there's a lot of late 50's - mid 60's stuff that I'd love to see released as well.

Most of what I'd like to see are the completion of some in-progress series and some that haven't seen a continuation of season releases in a while:

The Fugitive- keep 'em coming; #1 on my list for wanting the complete series
Big Valley - need to finish; #2 "
Checkmate - more sets
Leave It To Beaver - need to finish
Route 66 - More but with remastered xfrs
Barney Miller - need to finish
Who's the Boss - need to finish
Bewitched - need to finish
Flipper - need to finish
Fantasy Island - need to finish
Hill St Blues - need at least S3
Knots Landing - S2 & maybe S3
Perry Mason - need to finish
Rawhide - need to finish
Rifleman - Need compete series (remastered) release
Wild Wild West - need to finish
Welcome Back Kotter - need to finish

[edit] Can't believe I forgot the Invaders on my 1st post. I passed on the recent R2 release due to the reported intermittent subtitle bug in that release. The R4 set is out but I'm not going to gamble on it since it's most likely mastered from the current R2 set.

Movies: I have most of what I'd like to own but there's a few in my Sig. I face long odds on a couple of movie serials, "Blondie" movies and the "Andy Hardy" series movies. But, the Weismuller "Tarzan"'s were completed last year :)

I've been fortunate in '07 and since I started collecting TV/DVD in '04 since I've seen a few of my most-wanted series completely released or nearly all released if I included a couple of R2/4 sets. Combat!, Time Tunnel, Bionic Woman S1 & 2 (R2/4), 6M$M (R2/4), Hogan's Heroes, Lois & Clark, Rich Man Poor Man both "books" (R2). Plus, I have a few that are in progress of release and look like they'll finish. There will always be the un-released wish list but who knows...we may even see some like "Dennis the Menace" or "12 O'Clock High" one day.

Rick,

That's right...I forgot about the Gold Monkey :) It's not confirmed about next year but it's probably coming.

So, is it the 'Sooners or the guys from Stillwater this year? :)

Great list, Jeff. I'm in agreement with you on so, so many of your picks. Here's my wishlist for 2008, whittled down to my top 20. If I didn't purposely limit myself, I'd go on and on. This way I make myself really think about it. These are in no particular order:

FUGITIVE (just quit fooling around Paramount and put seasons 2-4 out all together)
LEAVE IT TO BEAVER, S3-6 (the abandonment of this series by Uni was like a dagger in my heart)
HGWT S4-6 (shocking that the king of dvd, Paramount, abandoned this one)
FATHER KNOWS BEST (whether Sony or Shout! or whoever - someone release the entire run)
PERRY MASON (just keep churning them out and I'll keep buying them)
ROUTE 66 (all that's needed is some better audio and video restoration and this is perfect)
BIG VALLEY (come on Fox, give us the rest of season 2)
SIX MILLION DOLLAR MAN
NAKED CITY, S 1
THE LUCY SHOW (seasons 1 & 2 would be enough to make me happy)
TARZAN (the Ron Ely series was one of my favorites as a kid - been decades since I've seen it)
MY THREE SONS (I'd be happy just to see it get started)
RAWHIDE (pick up the pace with this one, Paramount)
HARLEM GLOBETROTTERS (the original HB run from the early 70's)
COSBY SHOW (these have been great bargains and it's still hilarious to me)
WIDE COUNTRY (this is one of many lesser known shows I'd love to see released)
OZZIE & HARRIET (oh how I'd love to see these in season sets - I'd buy all 14 seasons)
ANY B&W WB DETECTIVE/WESTERN SERIES (any one of a dozen or more shows)
MICKEY MOUSE CLUB, 50's VERSION (in season sets - this would be more for my kids)
GOMER PYLE (might as well keep these coming too, Paramount)

Gary "there are so many more, but this is my top 20... but ask me tomorrow and it might change some" O.

With so many disappointments this year it somewhat leaves out some excellent titles which were afforded lousy DVD releases! I am not asking for what has already been made available...either they sell or they don't and that's pretty much that in my book! With the sole exceptions of ROD SERLING'S NIGHT GALLERY and HAVE GUN, WILL TRAVEL. Sometimes I think that these major distribution companies are primarily influenced by the noisy few rather than the buying majority in their selections.

However, for my 2008 expectations:

THE INVADERS
SCIENCE FICTION THEATRE
HAWKEYE AND THE LAST OF THE MOHICANS (1950s)
ONE STEP BEYOND
MEN INTO SPACE
ROALD DAHL'S WAY OUT!
THE ADVENTURES OF ROBIN HOOD (1950s)
BORIS KARLOFF'S THRILLER
THE ALFRED HITCHCOCK HOUR
ZORRO (1950s)
LONG JOHN SILVER (1950s)
DENNIS THE MENACE
THE GREEN HORNET
SEA HUNT
RIPCORD
WAGON TRAIN (especially the Ward Bond seasons)
MY THREE SONS (especially the William Frawley seasons)
DESILU PLAYHOUSE (especially "The Time Element" segment)
THE LONE RANGER
LASSIE (especially the Jeff and Timmy seasons)
PROJECT U.F.O.
THE MANY LOVES OF DOBIE GILLIS
THE PATTY DUKE SHOW
12 O'CLOCK HIGH

Many TV shows... but I am just going to mention one, that a certain studio has made fans of the show very angry

Hill Street BLUES!!

I still cant believe how FOX could put a flyer out for season 3 coming in the fall of '06 or whenever it was and NOT follow up on it...
Very angry

Great, Great News on Gold Monkey! I sure hope that it is released like the rumor has it being, if they can't tie it in with a the release of Indy 4, then we mine aswell just give up completely.

My Wish List:

Tales of the Gold Monkey
Street Hawk
Spenser: For Hire
Matt Houston
Eight is Enough
Scarecrow and Mrs. King
Vega$

If just one or two of the above make it out next year, i will be thrilled. I don't have much other than those that i am waiting to see get releases. To bad about The Love Boat i had to scratch that off, but maybe i will cave as we get closer to release date, and decide to still collect it.

Stuff i hope to see more releases of:

Cagney & Lacey
Hill Street Blues
St. Elsewhere
CHiPs
The Fall Guy
Hart to Hart
Fantasy Island
Dynasty
Simon & Simon
T.J. Hooker
Picket Fences

I will be greatly dissapointed if i am not able to get several more releases combined for the shows above in 2008.

Wow, that is pretty insane, i even left off a couple you listed like Rockford and Dallas that i collect because i know they will be getting more releases and i am confident i will be able to finish those. I have been tempted to collect Streets/San Fran aswell, it is just those volumes that turn me off so much. If S2 goes back to a complete set i will pick them all up at some point. If you do not yet own Riptide or Hardcastle & McCormick i would highly reccomend you pick those up. You will probably love them to!!
