There's Jessie the yodeling cowgirl. Bullseye, he's Woody's horse. Pete the old prospector. And, Woody, the man himself.Of course, it's time for Woody's RoundUp. He's the very best! He's the rootinest, tootinest cowboy in the wild, wild west!

Thanks for the roundup & Happy Thanksgiving Mike & Patrick. I've got Live Free or Die Hard Steelbook coming from bestbuy.com (minus a $15 GC). Looks like the best deal for Mission Impossible Season 3 is DeepDiscount Tuesday with the 20% discount (can't preorder). Also want Hudson Hawk but it isn't on deepdiscount's website & the b&m's are too high so I'll wait for it to hit the $10 bin (which should take about a month I figure).

I wonder who the target audience is for the New Line boxed set? Pink Flamingos AND LOTR both in the same box? Posted Image

It is described in the marketing info as a "coffee table book."

Is Pink Flamingos not a welcome addition to the Nicholls' home. Is the Fluff Pump not a John Waters' devotee? Posted Image

Fluffy Pumpkin thought 'Pink Flamingos' was a cooking show until I told him about it. I don't know....Eating Raoul is about as far as I can take sick humor. New Line isn't helping themselves in selling this set. Their own web site hasn't been updated since Halloween, and none of the vendors at dvdpricesearch.com contain a full listing of the titles, e.g. whether it's the theatrical or extended versions of LOTR. I have a goodly portion of the titles but would consider it for a gift.

I've been trying to find out (so far without success) whether 2 Days in the Valley is a remaster or the same transfer as the original HBO disc. It's an underappreciated little gem of black humor with a cast of familiar faces, every one of which gets eclipsed by the then-unknown Charlize Theron. Even then she had star quality. Since I doubt it's coming to hi-def any time soon, I may just pick it up on the hope that, ten years later, Paramount did more than recycle the old transfer. M.

Michael, similar thoughts crossed my mind when I saw 2 Days in the Valley in this week's list. I would double dip for an improved transfer.

Wow. That's a tough "get", Michael. I am having a dickens of a time trying to help you out.

The only thing I "found"...and I'm guessing it's just misinformation...further clouding the issue is that at DVD Empire...they list the AR of the new release at 2.35:1 while the AR for the old release is 1.85:1.

DVD Empire also lists a Spanish DD Mono track and a number of subtitles on the new release that aren't listed as being included on the older release. That MAY point to a different transfer.

I finished about 70% of my holiday shopping by picking up 45 of the $2.99 DVDs that Circuit City had on sale today. I think I should have just bought out all of their Kentucky Fried Movie DVDs and just give those out to guys. Some of the titles rang up at their regular price, so make sure you have the flyer in hand and watch each DVD getting rung up.

Well, I just didn't want to deal with CC on Black Friday morning, and from what I've seen, I doubt I'll be doing much BF shopping because I'm in thrifty spending mode this year (newly acquired car payment will do that), so whatever I don't give away, it gets returned to CC later in December. I also have a few boxes of DVDs to cull from the personal collection, and I'll be giving many of those DVDs away at work.

I'm hearing conflicting reports on whether or not Rescue Dawn is actually arriving on Blu-ray this week. Which ticks me off no end, because even with all the other great HD stuff this week, this is likely to be one of the most amazing-looking.

I am a bit confused, is the steelbook live free or die hard also the two disc? If so then why is it 2 dollars cheaper then the regular 2 disc at best buy???

Appreciate the effort, Mike! However, DVD Empire's information on the old release is incorrect. It's non-anamorphic 2.35:1. A new transfer would be (one would hope) anamorphic, but no site has that listed, and DVD Empire, which by this point usually has both front and back cover scans, has neither. M.

My guess is that the steelbook is the two disc at $22.99 (or at least the ad shows the cover of the two disc as the steelbook) and on Tuesday the non-steelbook two disc will also be $22.99. If not, that's pretty dumb. Posted Image
