Actually she was dubbed in both those films by Marni Nixon. Still, she was an excellent actress; she will definitely be missed.

thanks Matthew. After I wrote "singer" I paused because something told me she may have been dubbed. But I didn't have a chance to check it out yet. Oh well, a fine actress and lip-syncher I guess.

Another sad day for classic movie lovers.

I truly forgot how many great movies she made. I have loved every one that I have seen, and I still have several to see. It's time to move "The King & I" up the list a bit. ....and where is "The Hucksters" on DVD?

I've seen:
From Here to Eternity
An Affair to Remember
Heaven Knows Mr. Allison
Night of the Iguana
Black Narcissus

Wow! What a career!

I had seen her before in a couple pictures, but she really made a big impression on me in The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp, where she plays 3 separate women.

Man, that's a "kick to the stomach"!

My family and I just recently viewed the excellent DVD presentation of "The King and I". Dubbed or not, she did a terrific job in that role!

I'll "Whistle a Happy Tune" in her honor!
